RE: War Without An End In Sight:

Iraq wasn’t the problem it was and still is Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden, and the Taliban…‘ol bin is still out there…Taliban stronger than they were before 9/11. In view of Alabama’s. U.S. GOP Congressmen and Senators stance voting to continue this war in its 5th year. Being a rubber stamp for this president…as a veteran of Korea and Vietnam this is appalling.

Latest poll from CNN 82% of the Iraqi people oppose U.S. Forces in Iraq, can this be explained? The Saudi King is now speaking calling for this country to get out of Iraq.

We can throw Billions at and in Iraq, a worthless and useless cause…not to mention $3.00 gallon gasoline Billions in profits for big oil…and Halliburton with no bid contracts Billions in tax cuts on the backs of the working and poor. To beat all Halliburton doing work in and for Iran…Bush’s Axis of Evil Country?

There’s not proper medical care or insurance for the people of this country including children and Veterans…Veterans have none or limited Benefits and the first to be cut…Walter Reed a good example, after 6 weeks the President finally made his photo opt at Walter Reed. This President, Vice President and Congress can send the troops to war then are forgotten when returned this is proved by cutting Veterans benefits and compensation, don’t believe Mr. Bush served in the real military…daddy saw to this.

What’s more appalling to Veterans this GOP congress voted NO on the budget passed that this president vows to veto, the very budget that reinstates cuts Veterans took in the last Budget. Maimed Veterans and Veterans care is more important than Millions of dollars for a GOP Bridge in Alaska to serve a dozen or so people, this is outrageous.

Another slap in face to veterans by AL. Senator Jeff Sessions who gets the VP Dick Cheney too come to AL to bad mouth the people for wanted our troops home.

Who is Dick Cheney to come to Alabama bad mouthing over 60% of the people that are for bringing the military home? How many real American Patriots were drafted to fight in Dick’s Cheney’s place in Vietnam? Cheney is full of phony Patriotism. This administration and GOP congress have completely destroyed our military; too fight another front would be impossible with no equipment or personnel. Many troops are being sent back to Iraq for a 5th time with no equipment…this is too much, still giving big tax cuts to the wealthy, big business and big oil. We’ve been in Iraq 4 years too long and should be funded only to get the troops home.

By the way where is the oil money from Iraq that was to pay for this war and reconstruction?

A couple of observations:

1. I agree with most of your post.

2. Also, this is all about the remaining 60% of the earth's high quality crude that is under Iraqi sand. And now that we have a good idea that the dwindling OPEC reserve numbers, esp SA, have been falsified and there is less oil than we have been told, we have to have that oil. See we as a planet have peaked in our oil extraction/production at around 85,000,000 barrels a day. While we are only six per cent of the world's population, we consume 22,000,000 barrels (roughly 25%) a day. With Chindia coming on line, the world's demand for energy is growing rapidly. There simply just isn't enough recoverable "hydrocarbon stuff" to go around. So with a watershed event like the peaking of the world's oil supply, expect more resource wars.
