Have you ever turned the TV on, looked through 128 channels, and couldn't find a dang thing to watch that wasn't a rerun???????????

That's kinda the way I feel about this forum tonight. I think I'll just check back in later and see if there is anything interesting.

Oh YEAH... so I think I will just go to work now... nothing on TV but re-runs of CSI and nothing on the forum...

Maybe I'll Check out USM first though, always something going on there!!! Big Grin
I remember when I was about three(I know that because we moved before I turned 4)we lived in Muscle Shoals and I think we had cable. About the only thing that comes to mind was I guess what was considered the weather channel. All it was was a camera that panned back and forth from a thermometer to a barometer to a clock all in the style of the schoolhouse clock. In between each one was a small banner ad from a local advertiser. As it panned it would pause for each ad. Seems like I watched that channel for hours. Probably trying to figure out what a barometer was.LOL!!
FOX NEWS! No re-runs there!

I was 13 before I ever had air conditioning. I remember only having fans to cool with. It did not seem to bother me that much. When we first got A/C I got sick.

I was 10 or 11 before we got a colored television.
I think it was better with out remote controls, multiple TVs in the house and so many stations to choose from. The entire family used to sit together in the living room to watch one show. I miss that era.

What's WORSE, IMO, is to turn on the TV and see nothing but COMMERCIALS. Is it just me, or does it seem that commercials take up the majority of a TV program's time slot? The 'Sleuth' channel doesn't seem to be as bad in this regard....yet.

Another good thing about TIVO, you can fast forward past the commercials!

Are you aware that some attempts are being made to make 'fast fowarding' thru commercials, or editing out commercials from recorded shows, illegal?

Yes, I've heard this. Sad, isn't it?

I heard impossible, not illegal. but its all the same, like the DVD will not allow you to fast forward through the FBI copyright warning. To watch the movie you have to watch the Copyright law. PROVES THAT YOU KNOW THE LAW FORBIDS COPYING THE MOVIE IF YOU DECIDE TO DO THAT.
Commercials Pay for the Tee Vee Show. WHY SHOULD THE PERSON WHO PAID YOUR ADMISSION AUTOMATICALLY BE CONSIDERED A BENEFACTOR.
