Your insurance costs will double within a year of this heath bill passing. Within 5 your employer won't offer insurance. Within 7 you are going to be enrolled in a inept, and overburdened government heath care system. Imagine the wait and customer care of the post office coupled with the ineptitude of Department of Education. It isn't government's role and it never should have been.

What is next? No child dies in line?

Uh-YES!

I doubt it.

And I continue to be amazed at those who resist reform of the current health insurance sytem, with annual cost increases far outstripping the cost of living and tens of milllions uninsured and thus becoming charity cases for the rest of us to support.

Just WHAT would YOU do to prevent the ultimate collapse of the current system that is on track to occur unless something is done?

The current legislation is imperfect, but the current health insurance system is doomed to collapse. Needs fixin'! How would YOU fix it?

Sensible legislation that isn't being addressed such as tort reform. We are in this mess currently in part because of medicaid. The government pays pennies on the dollar so the doctors just doubled the price and make up for it from private insurance. You don't think this is going to get worse under government health care?

They said they are enacting this to stem the rise in health care costs. I guarantee it goes up for all of us AS A RESULT OF THIS BILL.

Chiropractic Internet Marketing

You bet your sweet subluxation there is--about as much difference as there is between chiropractic "medicine" and authentic modes of treatment. The dinky advertisement you posted is totally irrelevant to this discussion. Get lost and go find some quack forum to pollute with your inanities.

After the bill is passed, in a year or two, rest assured this thread will re-appear for assesment.

Jot down what you are paying now. As soon as this passes expect your premiums to go up at least 50%. You should be able to evaluate this part in a couple of months.

Of course, our Congressmen who vote this into law will be exempted from this WONDERFUL new law...
Irregardless of specifics, this health care reform is not about reforming health care as much as it is about government control of your life. When they control your health, they control you....end of story.

As to what the system will look like in a few years...nobody knows, not even the authors of the bills being voted on and passed. I do believe the current system in which I am practicing now will be the good ole days though. Someone mentioned tort reform. If you look at the VA system, from which many of the polticians espouse as the model of government health care, look at the liability of the doctors in this system vs. the private delivery system - not even comparable. Defensive medicine is practiced with every patient every day whether you believe it or not. I refer patients up the ladder to much higher cost specialists every day for stuff that I could easily treat simply for the liabilty management aspects of it. You think all those tests are being ordered to help diagnose your problem.....how about some are being ordered for diagnosis and some are being ordered for protection from suits if something does not go just right. This is the core of what is wrong with the system as we have it right now and as long as attorneys are writing the laws to give themselved a blank check this will continue to be the issue.

When they make insurance carriers compete for your business and they make reimbursment fair and liabilty sensible, you will see a much better health care system. However, I am going to pinch myself now since this is not going to happen with this current bunch of tools up there.

I will post it, my insurance went up to $1025/month . (up from $450/month during the Clinton presidency).

However, it will be somewhat more difficult in 2 years to access it as I will be on Medicare (you know, that terrible government run health insurance plan), but I will try to keep up.

What's funny to me is the fact that a major benefit of this healthcare bill is that it's supposed to help middle class Americans with the affordability of coverage.

However, this bill taxes middle class Americans with good healthcare plans. Unless you are in a union, that is. Then you are exempt from a 40% tax for an additional 5 years. The middle class, whom the current administration claims to have compassion for, is going to get the shaft again.

Please provide supporting facts from the actual bill.

We haven't seen the actual bill yet.

If you haven;t seen the actual bill yet, where are you getting your "Facts".

What you pay for coverage goes up, what you receive from the health care system goes down.
