Now this is what real Republican desperation looks like!

This is some text from a forwarded email from the Chairman of the Hillsborough County Republican Party:

THE THREAT:
HERE IN TEMPLE TERRACE, FL OUR REPUBLICAN HQ IS ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM OUR LIBRARY, WHICH IS AN EARLY VOTING SITE.
I SEE CARLOADS OF BLACK OBAMA SUPPORTERS COMING FROM THE INNER CITY TO CAST THEIR VOTES FOR OBAMA. THIS IS THEIR CHANCE TO GET A BLACK PRESIDENT AND THEY SEEM TO CARE LITTLE THAT HE IS AT MINIMUM, SOCIALIST, AND PROBABLY MARXIST IN HIS CORE BELIEFS. AFTER ALL, HE IS BLACK--NO EXPERIENCE OR ACCOMPLISHMENTS--BUT HE IS BLACK.
I ALSO SEE YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENTS AND THEIR PROFESSORS FROM USF PARKING THEIR CARS WITH THE PROMINENT 'OBAMA' BUMPER STICKERS. THE STUDENTS ARE ENTHUSIASTIC TO BE VOTING IN A HISTORIC ELECTION WHERE THERE MAY BE THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT.

In other words, the Republicans are screaming "Help! Black people are voting!" lol

From a volunteer, not Storck

Link

That's the last thing Storck wanted to do, he said Thursday.

"I do agree it is racist," he said. "I don't know if the gentleman who wrote it intended it to be, but that's not what I intended it to be."

The e-mail was written by Ron Whitley, a new volunteer whom Storck said he had met a few times. He said he did not think Whitley intended to make racist remarks. Whitley could not be reached for comment.

"There's a lot of emotion and a lot of passion about this election," Storck said. "I think people get wrapped up in it."

Florida Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer said he believes Storck had no "racist or malicious intent" but said the possibility Storck should resign is "a decision that is left up to him and local party leaders."

"It is my position that there is zero tolerance for any actions that would in any way be considered racist or do anything to hinder the minority outreach efforts the GOP and myself have worked on for the last two years," Greer said.

Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White, a Democrat and the lone black member of the county commission, said he was "deeply disturbed" Storck had forwarded the e-mail.

"We've come so far, but this still reminds us," he said, "we as a community, as a nation, still have so far to go."

FROM THE E-MAIL

Written by Ron Whitley, a Republican Party volunteer in Temple Terrace:

"I see carloads of black Obama supporters coming from the inner city to cast their votes for Obama. This is their chance to get a black president and they seem to care little that he is at minimum, socialist, and probably Marxist in his core beliefs. After all, he is black - no experience or accomplishments - but he is black."

So your saying that they're wrong for letting it get out into the public? Not that it was actually written in the first place?

In other words, it would be ok if kept only in the racist circles?

No, it would be better if it had not been written in the first place. It should never had been forwarded and shared with anyone.

It would be better if an entire group of people was not painted with the same general brush as the select stupid ones in the bunch. This goes for Republicans and Democrats.

Thank you for a perfectly sane and thoughtful response! Smiler
So what part of the e-mail is untrue?

I think the issue isn't that black people are voting, but they are voting for someone based on skin color and not policy. The same goes with the college students mentioned. Are they really voting because they agree with Obama's platform or are they voting for him because he's black and Bono really likes him?

I think the real issue is the assumption that all black people are voting for Obama because he is black. I'm sure there are many that are voting for that reason - the same reasoning that many women wanted Hillary to win because of her gender. But again, it just cancels out the racists who are voting AGAINST Obama because of his skin color.

Why is there an issue with blacks voting for a black candidate. Whites have voted for a white candidate since the first election and in large numbers also. Smiler

there is nothing "wrong" with blacks voting for blacks, but is it not possible they could also be in for a very big disappointment? I hear it constantly at work from black employees, remarks such as "just wait until WE get into the office of president" now what is that supposed to mean? Another frequent one is "we gonna rule this country for a change"
and who is "we" i ask, Obama has as much white blood flowing thru his body as he does black,he simply came into the world with the darker skin color of his father. has it ever crossed any of these black people who simply are voting for a skin color that it could very well back fire on them????????????
But in all honesty i am sort of glad that this campaign has brought out the racism that has been lurking all along from the black population. White people have been burdened with carrying all the blame for racism for far too long when in fact it has been hiding itself in blacks as well.
I dont know who "we" is refering to either. I am not running for anything. The White House will not be painted black, there will not be bbq's on the lawn either. Any smart person will tell you that racism comes in all colors. But please don't compare the years of racism that minorities have faced with these past few years.

Past few years? No I truly think you are wrong on this. I personally have heard the remarks I stated, and from persons I would have NEVER in a million years have thought would hear it from their mouths. The point I was making it has been there, lurking, hiding away, and when given the opportunity to present itself,it reared its ugly head. Just how much of this type racism has been hiding away, just eating away at those who are carrying it. Possibly even to the point of translating everything done by white people around them into things that were not even there! Then the ball rolls, getting bigger and bigger. Seeing racism by whites that possibly was not there at all, brought about by THEIR OWN.
Kinda like hearing bumps in the night.
Yes there have been racisms , but honestly how long is the torch going to be carried for generations past? This is one of the major obstacles that keeps it alive and eating away at society as a whole.

You make it seem as if there are not major race issues left in this country. Just a few weeks ago, another black man was killed from being dragged behind a truck in Texas. We have people making effigy's of potential Presidents and Vice Presidents. Just as you have people voting for Sen Obama simply because of race you have many refusing to vote for him simply because of his race.

I don't understand how some of you can say get over it. People that were attacked by dogs and police in the 60's, should they move on, should their children simply forget. We don't forget what happened on Sept 11. We don't simple move on from that. Again I ask you, how do you expect people that have been treated less than animals the majority of the history of this country to move on?

You want to talk about drugs. Please explain why crack cocaine (mostly black drug)gets you more time than powder cocaine(mostly white drug) when both are illegal.
I think Obama getting elected can be a positive thing in regard to racism, for both blacks & whites who only see the color of his skin or his name when they look at him.

I don't think he will be a great president but that in itself could open the eyes of those who support him based on race alone. What they'll find at the end of four years is what most of us already know...race means nothing. It's who the person is & what they will/can do for this country that matters when voting. Of course, race has never revealed who a person is, but some don't quite get that yet.

For those who do 'not' support him based on race or his name, believing every bizarre story that comes along to make themselves feel better about their dislike of this man...I think they'll find at the end of four years that he did as well as or better than presidents they gave their support to in the past. That could also be an eye opener. It will be a silent one because this group will never admit the root of their dislike of Obama. However, it will be one more positive step toward ending racism in a civilized society where ideology stemming from ignorance does not belong.

JMHO
I am a young, strong, independent, well educated,"African American Woman". Obama is an excellent canidate f0r this election. I feel, that the statement "HELP! BLACK PEOPLE ARE VOTING" is very racist. Get real world, this is 2008, we all are created equal and have a right to v0te. Yes, I feel that there are people in this forum that knows he would be a wonderful president, but won't v0te for him because of his race. Knowing that if he is to be elected,he would help many of you out with any of the situations this world may have. When I say that I mean, wether it is money wise, insurance or whatever the ordeal is. If Obama was a white man or woman in this election all of you probaly would vote for him. It's sad for me to say this, but I fear for him. This world has so many, many, many cruel people out here and would rather see him dead that a change for our world. Think about our children, our enviroment and so on. And for some of you who don't think black people want get off their lazy butts and work, YOUR WRONG. It's lots of races that want get off their lazy butts and work INCLUDING WHITE PEOPLE. Do know I could care less what any of you think of me and my race, half of you probaly don't have an education and have the nerve to sit up and talk bad about others. I will have you all in my prayers God Bless You and May God Keep You!!

I think this is marvelous. Now how would you feel a white, black, blue, purple, or green person, who didn't want to work, gets 50% of YOUR hard earned money. I really don't care what color you are, if you are able to work, WORK.

"I feel, that the statement "HELP! BLACK PEOPLE ARE VOTING" is very racist."

You are right, that statement is EXTREMELY racist and I'm sorry that anyone would even put that kind of dribble together. As seen from the WHITE side, the 20 years that Obama sat in Reverand Wrights church while he preached the gospel of Black Libertion Theology is also EXTREMELY racists. I invite folks of ALL colors to research info on the Black Liberation Theology.

"If Obama was a white man or woman in this election all of you probaly would vote for him. It's sad for me to say this, but I fear for him."

NO, If Obama was "white" (pssst, he IS bi-racial, you know) I still would not vote for him. I believe in free speech, free press, free enterprise. PERIOD. I like my freedom and don't need the government to control my life, thank you. I also fear for him. I am a child of the 60's and 70's and saw the struggle for Civil Rights. I think it's marvelous we have our first biracial candidate - I JUST WISH HE WASN'T A SOCIALIST! I would have voted for him if he wasn't so far left. It was actually a toss up between him and Hillary AT FIRST. The more HE talks the far left he sounds.

"Think about our children, our enviroment and so on."

I AM thinking about our children and grandchildren. I want them to experience living in a FREE United States of America where you are encouraged to go to school, work and achieve the American Dream. I've been around long enough to witness countries who subscribe to a SOCIALIST way of life have none of the above. Why do you think so many people want to come to America?

"And for some of you who don't think black people want get off their lazy butts and work, YOUR WRONG. It's lots of races that want get off their lazy butts and work INCLUDING WHITE PEOPLE."

I would like to SINCERELY believe that people of ALL COLORS would want to work. You're right there are people of ALL COLORS who are lazy. I don't think anyone here was singling out one race or another.

The problem is with Obama's tax plan, a smart, educated person as yourself would never be able to own and operate your own business without being taxed right out of business. I'm not sure if you been able to experience the tax cuts under the current administration, I'm assuming you have, did you know if Obama is elected all of those tax cuts that you and I have been able to take advantage of are GONE.

Besides, I really like America's fundamentals, and I don't think of the majority of Americans understood the "fundamental transformation of America" that Obama is proposing, that wouldn't support it either.

Think about who you vote for. Make sure you'll be able to use all the valuable education and INDEPENDENCE.

I too will have you all in my prayers.
Okay guilt by association. I see many want to tie Sen Obama with these people but why are none of you talking about Sen McCain and the US Council for World Freedom when he sat on the board. The USCWF at the time Sen McCain was on the board was a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites. Now does that make Sen McCain and extremist, racist, and anti-Semite? Or is there a double standard?
Sitting on a board means he may have shown up for meetings, but doubtful. There is also the 'honorary' position that is in name only. If McCain sat down in these guys houses and had dinner and planned strategies there and knew they were racists and terrorists, then Yes, that would be the same.

So I see there is a double standard!!! Why would Sen McCain even accept an honorary position with that group? If it was honorary, and it was not. The fact is that you bash Sen Obama for the exact same thing and yet try to defend Sen McCain. So I guess Sen McCain pals around with terrorist, racist, and anti-Semites also!!!
Whoa there, Obama had dinner with Ayers and Wright and praised Kahlidi, when did McCain eat with the members of The World Freedom group? It appears that it cleaned up its act by 84, and McCain was a new senator then so maybe he was thought it was OK.
Obama lived in Chicago and had to see news clippings about Ayers and there is no way he can deny Wright.

The USCWF was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in November 1981 as an offshoot of the World Anti-Communist League. The group was, from the onset, saddled with the disreputable reputation of its parent group. The WACL had ties to ultra-right figures and Latin American death squads. Roger Pearson, the chairman of the WACL, was expelled from the group in 1980 under allegations that he was a member of a neo-Nazi organization.

The U.S. Council of World Freedom claimed to be cleansed of these elements. The group's director, retired Major General John Singlaub, said he had purged some of the more "kooky" members, including a Mexican chapter that "blamed everything on the Jews," and "even accused Pope John Paul of being a Jew." The Anti-Defamation League, once critical, applauded Singlaub for his efforts. Moreover, the USCWF was granted a sense of political legitimacy when President Ronald Reagan addressed the group in September 1984.

And how long has Sen Obama been a Sen. Maybe he thought it was okay also.

Hmmm..let's see, a United States Senator in 2004, started his run in 2006.

He actually served on these boards and broke bread with Ayers, Kahlidi, and Reskco PRIOR to becoming a U.S. Senate. By the way if you REALLY ACTUALLY think he thought it was okay, you need to read Obama's book, study up on his momma (she was a leftist as well and grew up in the era of the Weather Underground),. Obama seems to have spent his adult life beginning in college to get himself elected to office; I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing. Afterall, he graduated from Harvard, didn't he.
All I am doing is proving a point. You claim that Sen Obama is pals with extremist. Sen McCain has done the same thing. Again I guess there is a double standard.

Lets see 1982 Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

On the board in 1981 through 1986 is significant not merely because it ties him to unsavory characters but because it firmly associates him with a foreign policy that was, at the time and still, controversial.

Singlaub and the council also reportedly provided Neo Hom and other factions of the Lao resistance with aid in the form of clothing and medicine - aid that the group subsequently turned into a scheme to raise fund from refugees.

Need I go further?

I am not saying Sen McCain was directly involved in any of the USCWF's operational decisions, and the same can be said for Sen Obama.
OK, McCain served on a board that helped terrorists back in 81. He never had dinner with any of them. He may not have known all the facets of the group.
Obama had dinner with two terrorists and launched his state campaign in their house. If he did not know then, he certainly knew after he started in the Illinois senate.
As recently as 2005, Obama and Ayers were emailing each other.
Obama endorsed Ayers book.
He praised Kahlidi in 2003.

McCain was not pals with any of the World
Freedom group, Obama had dinner with terrorists.
To me this is the same as finding a hate book in your kid's room vs finding them at a KKK or Black Panther riot. Not equal, but to each his/her own.
First of all Singlaub was a retired Army General and the group was set up to defeat communism.

The difference in these two associations to me is that McCain thought he was helping the AMERICAN cause-DEFEAT COMMUNISM- Obama is hanging out with folks who want to DESTROY America.

Singlaub was a retired Army Generalas were others on the board.

Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, Farakahn, Rev Wright are by NO MEANS looking out for America.

There is absolutley NO comparison.
I have no doubt Obama will be elected, heck start counting votes of dead folks and the numbers are gonna climb! He will win by a landslide of historical numbers!
Here nor there, the only relieving thoughts I have to the likely outcome of this is,those dead voters will be glad they are in the ground and those thinking that because "they" have gotten into office its gonna be easy street, but will be suffering right along with the rest of us out here in the real world.
We are going to see a level of racism this country has never imagined, much less lived thru.
We gonna see crime sky rocket, because that "pot of Plenty" ain't gonna be spread out like so many are foolishly believing.
we are going to see angers and frustrations, and hostilities never before experienced in this nation as a whole.
So I am already resigning myself to live in my little corner of this nation as silently and invisable as possible and just ride it out as best I can.
not that i can honestly say much better for McCain, but at least i do think he has a much more realistic view of the actual economical status this country is really facing.
This entire election has been deciding a lesser of 2 evils.Put them both in a sack, shake it up and which ever one falls out first skip away singing a happy song
flotown not sure how old you are but I'd suggest to do some historical research on some of these subjects not just blindly follow the leader.

And it took Obama over 20 years to realize what was really going on in Rev Wrights church?

If you do some further research you'll see where McCain hardly attended any of the meetings. Singlaub recalled only one. That was 20 years ago. The Obama's attended Khalidi's daughters wedding and Michelle O even admits Khalidi babysat their kids.
