My granddaughter, from Mississippi, participates in the Tennessee High School Rodeo. It is such a fun extracurricular activity comparable to any other high school sport. It also teaches responsibility and patience (caring for and training her horse), offers opportunities for scholarships, and provides incentive to maintain good grades. Each rodeo begins with a prayer and a salute to our nation. Cowboy church on Sunday is a favorite of parents and students alike.

Maybe something like that could be implemented in AL high schools!
