We are starting a new music venue in the Shoals.

Globe Unplugged is a private music event in our home that provides world class musicians the way music was meant to be enjoyed. Before there were clubs, bars, stadiums, smoke and anonymity; music was personal and relational. Along with "Slow Food", "Buying Local", and "DIY", we want to offer music that is organic and accessible. Many of the artists are award winning singer/songwriters and some have appeared at the "Bluebird Cafe", been guests on "Prairie Home Companion", and other NPR programs. Come prepared to be entertained.

The house concerts will usually be held on Saturday evenings and last about 3 to 4 hours. Since this is in a home,(some may be outside on the banks of Cypress Creek) seating is limited to 30-40 invited guests and RSVP is required. These are private gatherings and 100% of the $10.00 guest donation goes directly to the musician. Tea and coffee are provided, and you can BYOB responsibly. You can preview the event and artist by joining our private guest list (no details will ever be shared). You will then receive your personal invitation with links to the artists' web page, and details of the event. Music genres will be eclectic and include; acoustic, independent, folk, jazz, bluegrass, Americana, rock, and maybe even some gospel rockabilly.

We look forward to seeing you there, and having great time!

STR, to save you some problems and embarrassment, I hope that you have seriously researched the potential implications of what you are attempting to do. I would strongly encourage you to consult with an attorney and possibly your insurance agent prior to your first event.

Don’t get me wrong, while I support you, I know all too well, of what happens with good ideas go bad. Once you charge admission, even under the name of donations, you forfeit a lot of your rights and privileges as a private residence.
In two weeks we'll be having our second house concert. Our next artist is George Worthmore. He is a guitar picker EXTRAORDINAIRE, as well as a singer. He covers everyhing from classical, jazz, blues, rock, plus his own material. He has a rich musical history in New York City playing with the likes of Kinky Freidman, Bo Diddley, Ben E. King, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Lou Christy, and The Platters. He has also played shows as a second guitarist with Hot Tuna. Since 2004 he has expanded his performing into film and TV and has acted with William H. Macy, Robert Vaughn, and Ron Perlman. You can check him out further; http://www.facebook.com/l/ae96...worthmore.com/pages/
Concert date: Fri. April 1 7:30 PM
