Brentenman, it is a shame you feel like your methods can be considered politically Incorrect. I know that I, for one would really be interested in knowing them.

Mainly because of the culture of the Middle Easterners... they fight, it is their life blood, it is their passion, it is their religion, and I am just so afraid that this is one IraqNam that will never end because it "CAN'T" .. ya know?
The main problem is our elected officials. We continue to elect poor leaders, from the Presidency to Congress on down. Personally I don't think we should have ever started. As KS stated those people have been fighting each other for thousands of years, I don't know what made Bush think they would stop. What they should have done, and that's where good leadership comes into play, is make the decision that's best for this country. If that's war then they should turn it over to the services and shut up. You either need to fight a war or don't fight a war. This "kinda" being at war does nothing but get good men killed.

I actually heard some young news reporter on the radio a while back ask an Army General "How can we fight this war humanly"? Therein lies the problem. While we are trying to be humane, we're getting our a** kicked.
WAR !
Harry Truman knew how to end a war! Why are these cities still standing if we are truly at war?
Here is how to end it-
> Level the cities
>kill all the men
>sell the women and children into slavery
> take all their oil, gold or whatever treasure they have
> plow up their fields and spread salt into them

If you are not willing to finish a war, then get the hell out.

excelman, as bad as I hate to admit it, you have a Point... Just the other day was Pearl Harbor day... reckon we all should have SEEN this answer coming from someone. Yep, they found out not to make Truman mad, for sure.
What people don't understand is the difference between Corporatism (basically war profiteering) and Patriotism (strong, true leadership and doing what is truly in the best interest of the American people and their country.) Currently the Neocon cabal has arguably made one of the biggest blunders in American history, if it was done by mistake, it should have been stopped long ago and heads should roll. If it was done on purpose, then those responsible for the treason, should be brought to face the consequences.

It is common knowledge when formulating a plan for war (or business for that matter) that you want to negotiate and if necessary, fight from your strength and hopefully your opponent's weakness. Anyone can see that this isn't the case with this war. We are fighting from their strength and deliberately putting troops in harm's way. And this is unacceptable. When you declare war, you had better have a d*mn good reason and have consulted the best and brightest military minds available and be prepared to die for your cause. With our technology, we could have avoided almost all American casualties. Clearly, that wasn't a concern.

Want to win the war??? ( this was posted right after 9/11)

Specifically we must:

* Officially declare war against each of these countries by name. This act would prove our resolve, it would empower the President as needed, and it would allow for the government to use its power against war-time traitors as prescribed in the Constitution, so we can rid this country of our internal enemies.

* Destroy the entire governments, militaries, and infrastructures of each and every one of these countries, deprive them of the Western World's twenty-first century technology, and leave them in a state of technological primitivism equivalent to their medievalist ideology. Leave them to their tents and camels, as they would still be had they not been allowed to steal the oil fields that Westerners discovered and made valuable.

* Announce to the world that the USA will no longer pressure Israel to participate in the sham "peace talks" with the Palestinians, and encourage them to take over the disputed territories and put an end to Arafat's dictatorial, terrorist-farming regime. Regrettably, New Yorkers are now experiencing what the Israelis have long had to deal with: their society being besieged by murderous savages. Israel is not their prime enemy: Israel is hated mainly because it is the sole outpost of American values in the Middle East.

* Deport or arrest those in this country who are suspected of sympathy or complicity with these enemies of America. We know they exist.

* Continue this fight against terrorism as long as it is necessary, and to use any and all means necessary -- including nuclear weapons. The fact is that masses of people will die; the question is whether it will be Americans -- or our enemies. (And do not wince for a moment over the thought of innocent casualties: wars just do not allow for it, and such blood is on the hands of the instigators, not the defenders.)

* Demand cooperation from all other countries, including access to their intelligence, airspace, or whatever else is necessary for us to conduct this war. If any country refuses, we must condemn them for being accomplices and enemies, as well.

The question is not whether America can win this war. The question is: Are we willing?
