Human or Ape ..... or both?

Looking over the Drudge Report I came across a link to a "The Sun" article about scientist taking human sperm and implanting a female ape and crazy enough the ape actually is said to have carried the embryo to birth and it actually survived birth and lived on afterward.

My first thought was that this was a recent story but according to the article the scientist involved killed the infant not long after birth due to their concerns about moral and religious implications.  My second thought was this explains the elections of Democrats in the not too distant past but then I am kidding on that part.

Actually, I am amazed if this was something that was attempted that long ago and even more surprised that it was in Florida where it was attempted and even more surprised that it hasn't been attempted again and in the not too distant past.  I don't doubt though that someone will be trying it and it may have been attempted since then and just not publicized but then knowing scientist this is something that they would not have kept quiet about.

There are areas of Science that mankind should just leave alone but sadly that will not be the case.  Good intentions often bring about horrendous things such as their attempt to gain more honey from the honey bee and coming up with "killer" Africanized Bees.  Can it be done may be better off asking should it be done?   I chose to submit this under Miscellaneous rather than news because we are talking about an event that is no longer news but happened back in the 1920's and I also thought about posting under the Religion board but my better judgment decided here was the most appropriate.

I hope you are right about it being fake news.  I wouldn't doubt others attempting it though including Stalin and Hitler whose **** regime was always experimenting medically with people.  The thing about Hitler though is he was so entrenched with the superior race and thus mixing humans with even other humans was taboo to him.  Still, there will always be some idiot that will try anything.

I also read where in China they are working toward attempting a head transplant where they take a human head from one body and transplant it onto another human body.  There is always a thirst to find the miracle to avoid death if they can at all possibly seek that out.  That is nothing new though as even back to the Chinese emperor who arranged for the Terracotta army was seeking immortality and beckoned people from all over to come to him with their finds.

From a religious point of view to me this would be something akin to the motivation that brought on the tower of Babel and the judgment that followed due to that.  The most contemporary threat, as I understand it, is Artificial Intelligence and implementation in drones and robots.  Mankind could easily reach a point, as in the Terminator movies, where AI determines that humanity is a disease worthy of extermination.

I hope you "took that story with a grain of salt", because that can't happen. There have been, and still are being done, some terrible and cruel experiments, being done to helpless animals, even Edison was guilty of that, but a human impregnating an ape or ANY animal isn't happening.

Chimp/Human Hybrid: Non-Truth no doubt...DNA is too complex for our understanding as we know Today. Watson & Crick had the biggest breakthrough some 68 years ago describing double Helix structure. As others have made advances from this understanding up to Today. Mankind has far too much more to learn, all the alteration changes made - creates a new change reaction in DNA behavior and sustained compatibility. Genetic manipulation to cure diseases? Maybe, but I don't see compatibility of exchanging genetic material between different species within my lifetime. There are some other studies on the horizon, that are slowly being hypothesized/explored in this area of Hybrids, but it will be a very very slow process in my opinion.
