Democrat Congresswoman Believes Constitution Is 400 Years Old!

"Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) declared the U.S. Constitution to be 400 years old Wednesday on the House floor, which would mean it was signed in 1614.

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.

That would be seven years after Jamestown, Virginia became America’s first permanent English settlement.

Lee is off by only 173 years. It was adopted on Sep. 17, 1787."

As, politicians should know the history of the nation's laws, this ranks worse than the Dem that worried about Guam tipping over.

TRUTH -- THE NEW HATE SPEECH!

Lee has been responsible for some of the most idiotic statements ever made in the House of Representatives. For instance, in 2003, Sheila Jackson-Lee complained that hurricane names were too "lilly white" and said that "All racial groups should be represented." She suggested Hurricanes "Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn".

In February 2011, Congress was debating federal spending. And Sheila Jackson-Lee got up to make her contribution, denouncing a Pepsi Commercial as racist. Other things that Jackson-Lee has denounced as racist include the above mentioned hurricanes, a balanced budget and secret service agents.

More of her dumb*** ramblings. Really? I mean really? We aren't "willing" to accept the fact that people may need help?   Someone explain to her too, just what transitional means.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee: Change the Word 'Welfare' to 'Transitional Living Fund' -

CNSNews.com) - In a brief speech on the House floor Wednesday, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) hailed the war on poverty, endorsed government welfare programs, and said the "safety net has to be something for all of us."

"Maybe the word welfare should be changed to something of, 'a transitional living fund.' For that is what it is -- for people to be able to live," she said.

Jackson Lee hailed the Earned Income Credit, food and nutrition programs, jobs training and education programs, Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act as "huge safety nets -- not handouts, but safety nets, she said.

As part of her five-minute speech, she displayed a photo of people in a long line "who are possibly looking for work." Jackson-Lee said there's no way to know which of those people "are near the edge of poverty or living in poverty simply because they cannot find work."

She urged Congress to pass emergency unemployment insurance -- "a transitional outreach to individuals who are chronically unemployed," as she put it.

"Quite frankly, of all the wealthy nations, we have the lowest safety net and the highest poverty, because we're not willing to accept the fact that sometimes an American needs help. Even a veteran -- even a soldier.

"So today, I honor the 50th anniversary of the war on poverty, Mr. Speaker, and I ask us not to give up the fight because the American people are looking to us to win the war."

Got to have a few of them around--Black women politicians.

Too bad they're the most argumentative, least fact based group of people to walk the face of the earth.

At least Georgia got rid of Cynthia McKinney from Stone Mountain.  She was famous for wearing yellow all the time--and getting in the middle of the aisle of Congress on every State of the Union address.

Despite all that education, mostly in liberal institutions, she still proves dumb as a stick.  What living in Texas, afterwards has to do with anything is beyond me.

I was born in the Shoals area.

Clueless Crash.

jtd attempted to deride Texas by associating Lee's deficient education with being a product of the Texas education system which she wasn't Surely, you understood that,  One would have to be truly ignorant not to.  Or, the product of liberal education.

That's what I call a shazam slam.

Is she an elected Texas politician??  From Dires postings, I was led to believe that.  All of the rightie postings on this topic are telling me how wrong and dumb I was to believe she was from Texas.

She was educated enough to get Texas to elect her.

That is like saying Hillary Clinton was a product of the New York system, of which she presided over as a legislator.  She "learned" all of her bad habits somewhere else, but found a place to make others miserable.  Not everyone who serves in the state is a product of that educational system.  Many, like this rube, think they are superior to those over whom they legislate.

Yale owes her a refund.

Well, O'Bama, the guy who was in a marijuana haze in high school, graduated from Harvard Law.  And nobody in his two undergraduate universities remembered him.

He was definitely a product of the Peter Principal--and his race.

And he's no better politician than he was a community organizer.  Never was involved in but one lawsuit.

I still cannot get over the lack of intelligence of the uninformed voter.

She was educated enough to be elected in one of the few liberal majority districts in Texas -- sad bunch.
