Interesting Take on Toyota

Toyota thought they were king of the road and nothing could stop them. They made mistakes just like other car companies do. Except they wanted to wait around to see if it got worse and it bit them in the rear. At least other car companies will step up and admit there's something wrong instead of blaming it on floor mats.

As far as the Japanese/Asian manufacturers go, I never liked Toyota anyway. The only one I cared for was Honda.

What's the country of origin on most of these recalled cars?

I won't take the time to really research it, but I'm pretty sure that most new Toyotas in the US are now made in Toyota's US plants (or Canada).

Ford is making nice cars.

I don't personally own one, but from what I've read only cars built in American plants are involved in the gas pedal recall. Cars built in and imported from Japan use pedals from a different supplier. A person can call their local Toyota dealer and give them the VIN and see if they're on the recall list. I would think there is somewhere on the internet to check it out also.

I drive one of the Camrys (2009) and it (and most other Camrys) are built in KY.

I love it when folks start talking about these 'foreign' cars. It just shows their lack of knowledge. I looked at a Chevy Impala and a Toyota Camry when I bought my Camry. Know where the 'American' Impala is built? CANADA! Yep, thats putting us Americans to work all right. My AMERICAN built Toyota is a winner, recall or not.

The gross profits for my car may go to some Millionaire in Japan, but the majority of it went to American workers. Id rather it be that way than give the gross profits to a small number of American Millionaires and the rest to the Canadian workers.

Call me jaded and insensitive, but Toyota's newest ad campaign (for their trucks, anyway) makes me laugh. "Grow up? Not you!"

My Hyundai was made in Montgomery, Alabama.

After the last recall, I was discussing this with my husband. He said he couldn't help but be suspicious that this is a way to give American automakers a break. It is possible, but sure would be a low blow if so.

I knew my wife's camry was built in America and my 4runner is Nippon...........I was just sorta commenting on the "Asian manufactuers"....daughter's Honda made in the USA too.....only "American" ride we've got is my old El Camino,course it was built in Mexico!!!!!!!!!
