The media plays Iran's efforts as a show and still has the underlining elements of the fear card. But Iran had allowed Inspectors and cameras and was cooperating but the Security Council continued it's threats so they removed them.
They know the US fabricated a case against Iraq and is doing the same to them. They know we are there to control the region and oil.

Maybe Iran is making Nuclear weapons but they are still at least 5 to 10 years away and maybe more because their tests are falling short of expected progress. It's all political.

If we really wanted to just discourage them all we need to do is have Israel live within International law and end their expansionist policies and territorial demands.
The US needs to leave the region and allow them to live in peace. Then a more peaceful and sensible administration would be erected in Iran.

When the Liberal Khamati was elected president he made numerous peace gestures and proposed talks. He cooperate with US against the Taliban and al Qaeda. Neither are friends of Iran. Of course if you depend on the corporate media would think they are all aligned and potting to take over the world.

The US and Israel rejected all cooperation with Iran and made Khamiti look foolish and incompetent and allowed the conservative Ahmadinejad to come to power.
