I ask because the TD CONSISTENTLY ignores local events. There is either NO lead-up coverage, or there is only passing mention AFTER an event. I may have missed it, but I see NO reference to the Renaissance Faire this weekend in the TD.

I can't answer that, but the TD does have problems reporting local news. It seems anywhere from loosely to highly censored. As for events, they will publish the day of the event. That doesn't really help people plan. On the flip side, I know some orgs, etc., don't send in their info early enough.
If you like crime news, don't rely on the TD entirely. Some days they seem to report local crimes, but other days the courthouse could be blown up and they'd wait 48 hours to report it...if then.
Failure to advertise events ahead of time is a major failing in the Shoals. I've missed several events because I only found out the day before.
They did have a photo gallery of people setting up in the park I looked at yesterday morning but that was it. This morning(Sunday 10/27/2013) there appears to be a few articles about it but as you said nothing to announce the event beforehand. It all seems to be after the fact coverage.
I dunno.
I'm still waiting on a follow up story about the guy that got nailed, while on his own front porch, by a Lauderdale County Deputy.
Supposedly...shooting at his neighbors...
Hush...hush?
If you think coverage in the Shoals is bad, try being in south Tennessee. They could not even cover a train wreck in Loretto that was about 10 feet from the highway 43 right of way. But they like to sell papers here.
I've left messages with a local reporter 3 years running and he has not returned my calls.
yeah, and they want us to pay for it ...
Of course it is anti-Shoals. The owners are from Decatur and much of our area coverage is from that area,... Moulton,... Lawrence Co,... etc. And someone said earlier that they report after the fact,... I agree. Seems like the local blogs and websites often get the jump on the TimesFaily,... their facebook weather page Shoals Weather isn't even that good,...
Why would they be "anti" shoals? Not being as interested in something/somewhere isn't the same as being opposed to it.
Let me try to clarify 3 years running. At this time of year for the last 3 years. And yes, not anti, just don't want to take the time and trouble to find out local stuff.
