I remember up until the early 1990's, the "made in America" and "Sam's choice" were the slogans for WalMart.....

Now, it is cheap, ChiCom garbage....

We have a choice where we live. We go to Target whenever we can. Better goods, better quality, nicer stores, etc.

If I have to buy "Made in (___<--Put Asian country here), might as well buy it in a nicer store.
One other thing about WalMart that makes us want to go to Target instead.

I learned this while earning my Master's degree:

Ever notice that WalMart always seems to have few checkout aisles manned, while the few that are manned are overflowed? That is a deliberate tactic by WalMart. Supposedly, it is done so as to not have too many checkers worker, equals less employees. Secondly, it makes shoppers want to go back and buy more stuff since they have to wait anyways, say you have a family, have mommy tell daddy to go get this and that while I wait in line. I have heard other reasons I can't remember, but those are the ones that stuck with me the most.

That tactic is not tolerated at Target. They keep most of their aisles open and manned. No waiting.
Big Star! They take the groceries to the car for you, for pete's sake. Half the time they won't even let me lift them from the buggy to the conveyor belt. It's very encouraging to see little gentlemen in the making. Their produce and meat department are excellent, as well. Most importantly, every person that works there can help me and actually know the answer to any question I give them. It doesn't get any better than that!
what has happened to WAL-MART is the same thing that happens to us all.Remember when you were younger and heard your dad say"Sure would like to buy an acre of that land down by...but old man-- owns it and will take it to his grave"? Well 'ol Sam had a good thing going until the kids got it and made it a global money machine.Remember that land your dad mentioned,it now has a housing development on it for $20,000.00 per LOT!!! With WAL-MART planning to hire 150,000 employees in China in the next 5 years to operate thier projected 20 more stores this year(for a total of 56+20=76) Why would we expect to recieve any customer service from our local stores? They are sattelite operations being controled by Bentonville,Ark. Its so impersonel,The employees have a 1-800# to call in sick!!!!!

Master's degree and quaint observations all at the same time!!!

Target is french
O Fortune,
like the moon,
you are changeable,
ever waxing,
and waning...

You know, Target actually has an interesting history and they have been around a lot longer than you would think.

And, no, not french, but I think he was referring to the way some people pronounce it now...sounds like tarzshay.
