for PEDOPHILES!" That is a quote from the Pastor that is starting a church at GZ this weekend. The 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero is also 2 blocks from GZ and certainly seems provocative and in contradiction to the meme to maintain the sanctity of the site. Keller, the Pastor also:

hosted a birther infomercial

calls President Obama the new Hitler

targeted presidential contender Mitt Romney for being Mormon with a campaign called "voting for Satan."

But he does know how to make a dollar. The 9-11 Christian Center appears to be no different. The project's website features a prominent link telling viewers to "Earn $$$ - Click Here!" It goes to a letter from Keller offering people a 10 percent referral cut on donations from their friends to the 9/11 Christian Center.

Islam is the preferred religion of 8 million Americans. The Saudis that armed themselves with boxcutters and flew planes into buildings dont represent them any more than Keller represents all Christians. Unless maybe all Christian leaders are scammers, an idea that I'm willing to accept, given proof. The real problem is Catholic churches in proximity to schools and daycares.

The 8 million is promiulgated by CAIR, who have a stake in inflating their numbers. Pew Research suggests about 2.5 million.
See page 27 of this report http://pewforum.org/newassets/...Muslimpopulation.pdf

Many mistakenly believe most US citizens of arab descent are Muslim. No, about 75 percent are Christian. They're here to get away from their brethren.

Suggest you study up on what goes on in the madrassas. Male children aren't safe, there either.

You might actually need to worry more about married Protestant pastors!

quote:
AP discusses the raw numbers from three companies that insure the majority of protestant churches in America (Church Mutual, Guide One, and Brotherhood Mutual), and typically receive 260 reports/yr of people under 18 being sexually abused. Compare that with ~228 credible accusations/yr against Catholic clerics since 1950 (documented abuse records).

Together with that information, it is known that the Catholic Church greatly outnumbers any specific Protestant denomination, and the data for Protestant churches is available only for the last seven years.

Also from the link:
quote:
Philip Jenkins, in his 1996 book Pedophiles and Priests, [[link edited for length]], looked at the problem objectively and dispassionately. Jenkins (who is not Catholic) found that true pedophilia is extremely rare, and perhaps more common among Protestant clergy, and is even more common among married laymen.

He found that in most sexual abuse cases (under the age of consent), the behavior is actually a variety of homosexuality. This sexual attraction with very young men that combine the charm of boyishness with sexual maturity is actually called ephebophilia. Pedophilia is really a psychiatric term meaning sexual interest in children below the age of puberty.

Even a book review by William A. Donahue [Review: Pedophiles and Priests] reveals how accurate Jenkins is in his observations over the years. Deal Hudson makes 10 valid points about priestly pedophilia [link edited for length] no one should overlook.

True pedophilia (Leon Podles/ Clergy Sexual Misconduct: Just a Catholic Problem?) occurs most often within families. Celibacy removes most Catholic priests from those types of temptations, and clergy in churches that do not require celibacy have the same (if not worse) problems.

But it has been a media target for any child abuse. More so because many enjoy 'shooting down' something they believe to be "holier than thou". But the Episcopal Church has a comparable problem, and some of the worst abuse cases have been in fundamentalist and Pentecostal churches [[link edited for length]].
Also being a child in the Muslim world isn't such a good thing either. They often take child wives and young boys need to watch out also.

quote:
If caught, Muslim gays in some Islamic countries may face serious consequences, yet there are several incidents that prove the act of homosexuality does exist in those countries. In Turkey, where homosexuality has been legal since 1850, 18 people of a gay right group were detained recently for soliciting gay prostitution. Apparently, there are four gay right groups in Turkey who are often harassed for various reasons. Nigeria, a genuine Islamic country, strictly prohibits homosexuality. In August 2007, 18 men were arrested when they took part in a gay marriage. Unsurprisingly, the Islamic Sharia Court ordered a stone shower on those gay people until they died. In October 2001, in Egypt, 52people were arrested for conducting a group gay party.

Muslims may not be allowed to practice homosexuality in this life, but they might have better luck, for those who are interested, in the after life. There are a few things in Islam that are forbidden in this life but are readily available in Heaven. Some moderate Muslims do not mind sipping from a bottle of red wine, but it is strictly illegal according to Islamic laws. Muslims, however, will be floating on the river of wine in Heaven and singing, “Yo ho ho, and a bottle of Rum”. Homosexuality is another forbidden pleasure that Muslims may enjoy in Heaven.

The Quran suggests, “Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded” [Q 52:24, Yusuf Ali]. Besides advocating child labor, the verse in question gives a graphic picture of pearl-like boys who will serve their masters. Why do pious Muslims need beautiful boys? The purpose is obvious. Verse 20 of the same sura describes gorgeous women who possess beautiful big and lustrous eyes; verse 22 affirms meat and fruit, and anything else the residents of Heaven will desire. Typically, Muslims have years of old excuses and complain that the critics of Islam quote the Quranic verses out of context. Ironically, the context of verse 24 that calls for beautiful boys becomes clear if the other verses, 20 and 22, are taken into account.
