I had wrote a Masterpiece, spent about 45 Minutes writing it, and when I hit post now I came to the realization that I had lost my Connection, oh agony, agony. lost everything.

I hate that happened! I enjoy reading your posts Prince Albert. 
Some forum software will log you out after a certain amount of inactivity. Over the years I've found out the hard way and if I'm going to write a long post I will usually write it in notebook or Microsoft word and then post it.
Also sometimes(depending on your browser settings) you can actually hit the back button when this happens and your work will still be there.
