Ok...I'm going to see Jack the Giant Slayer with my granddaughter. She's 11 years old and wants to see this movie. Has anyone seen it and does it look like an "OK" movie for a 'grandmother-granddaughter' day???

A friend took her 10 and 12 year old boys to see it and they loved it. She is pretty careful with what she lets them watch on tv, and at the movies, and she said it was great. Sorry, the best I can give you is a second hand review.
Please let us know what your take on this movie is. As I said my friend is pretty careful with what her children can watch so I assume there was nothing in it that she felt inappropriate for their age.
The previews look pretty good and fairly benign. Check the ratings to be sure and have fun.
It's just a shame we don't have a better theater in the area to see it. While its still fairly new and clean the theater in Florence lacks any real customer service. Rude, inattentive employees who act as though you're bothering them to wait on you is my normal experience there.
The movie was great...I really enjoyed it and so did my granddaughter. Several funny moments that made you laugh or at least smile. Actually my son and his wife also went and we (the adults) really like it as much as my granddaughter. When I looked around the theater, it was filled mostly with adults. lol
My granddaughter has us lined up to watch Oz next...LOL
When I originally posted I didn't realized that the movie was starting soon and I wasn't able to read everyone's comments before I left. But thank you for your comments!
When will hollywood come up with their own ideas again. Whats next Goldie lox or humpty dumty.
