In the news lately, police get shot. I looked in the bureau of labor statistics and did not find police work on the hazardous list. Some charts listed the top ten, one listed fifteen. Policemen was not on it. Where do they rank for hazards and injuries?

JT, how about a link for your info?
Here's one for 2013 only because it was the first one I came to.
Charted: The 20 deadliest jobs in America
http://www.washingtonpost.com/...est-jobs-in-america/
LEO's ranked 15th.
Same site listed LEOs 2nd as being murdered on the job.
I suppose the intent was to draw a distinction between on-the-job injury's of having a tree falling on you during a logging operations being ambushed and executed while you sat in your car.
So jt, are you disappointed more cops aren't killed?

Best, if one cop is killed, that is one too many. Why do you think I would be disappointed? What is that little half azz smiley face suppose to represent?

I know i feel safe in the jet but the drive to work is another story. You do sort of think of what ifs on R220 halfway between Anchorage and Narita. Nearest airports are over 2 hours away one is in the middle of the North Pacific and the other is in Russia and life expanancy in the North Pacific is 1 minute and in a 2 engine jet. The good part is I do not have to decide if some thuglet has a pellet gun or real one in 1 millasecond and be worried if the media will sell me down the river to prison.
Police are ranked number two for being murdered on the job, topped only by taxi drivers.

I call that serious "pucker factor."
Like running out of gas in Baltimore.
Here goes, something is wrong with those charts. Airplane pilots are more hazardous than construction workers. Is it percentages? One airplane crash kills a larger percentage of airline workers than a construction accident that kills 15 workers. Is it average fatalities per accident? In construction, most accidents are treated and recovered from, in the airline, an accident usually means fatalities. In construction, get medical treatment and get back on the job, in aviation, there is no forgiveness, make a mistake and you're outta here.
Did I ask any of this right. I don't mean any slurs.
Guess no one in the Bureau has driven around the Shoals.

jt she is so stupid, she can twist anything around to try to make people look bad. what you said was right
I think retirement is the most hazardous, to the best of my knowledge 100% of retirees die.
Being alive is a major hazard -- last person that got out of here alive was about 2,000 year ago - none since. Another escape by fiery chariot was reported well before the first example.
