Ham is incredibly naive and ignorant as regards the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.  In his whiny fund-raising letter criticizing the actions of Kentucky officials, he says this (bold emphasis added):

<<<One letter from the State of Kentucky to AiG makes it clear that the state seeks to discriminate against us because of our Christian message. The letter from a state official, with statements that criticize us for having an evangelistic purpose and possibly hiring Ark staff who agree with our Christian faith, is remarkable.>>>

"[E]vangelistic purpose! "Christian message"! "Christian faith"!  Ham leaves absolutely no doubt that his enterprise is religious in nature, and not merely religious, but evangelistic! In other words, Ham wants to obtain public financial assistance to develop and carry out an enterprise that, by his own admission, will attempt to recruit adherents to the particular religious belief system that he embraces. That is what Ham's evangelizing is all about.  And it is without doubt unconstitutional for the Commonwealth of Kentucky to assist him financially in his evangelistic activity.

The issue of Ham's religious discrimination practices in hiring staff for his Ark Encounter enterprise is a significant one and the Commonwealth of Kentucky is correct in finding that practice improper for any enterprise receiving public financial assistance.  But the larger, overweening issue is Ham's demand for state support for his admittedly religious, evangelistic activity.  The Commonwealth of Kentucky should no more support Ham's activities than it should support the religious activities of any

churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, or other venues of religious activity.

Jennifer Best, my Friend,

Wow, I am blown away!   You actually found an atheist with a science background -- who does not like Ken Ham, Answers in Genesis, or the Institute For Creation Research!   Who woulda thunk it?

My Friend, keep googling -- I am sure you will find many more like him out there.

Or, you could visit http://www.blbclassic.org/index.cfm and learn the real truth about God, salvation, creation, and what is coming in eternity.   So, I guess you can learn from man -- or from God.  Personally, I will take God every time.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
