Its been several years since I've been to Landrys. I never had a bad meal there. Is the food, especially the seafood still good?

No, the first restaurant was in 1980 in Katy, TX. The decor is 40's. It must have looked quite authentic to you.
Landry's
Edited to add that yes, the sign says something about a tradition since 1947, but that's just their schtick. I asked.

I have eaten at Landry"s in New Orleans and in Albuquerque. Both were excellent. I drove by the one in Lafayette and would have eaten there but I was one the way to the restaurant operated by P. Prudhomme's sister. It was also excellent. Has the one in N O been restored! I lost my beloved Irish Channel Bar during Katrina.

Oysters Rockefeller, yum at Landry's. I wish I could remember where that place that Guy From Diners Drive-Ins and Dives was at, the owner was making Oysters Rockefeller and putting a slice of tomatoe under the cheese. Looked yummy.
