Please tell me why the idiots that run Lauderdale County can't make a decision to close the Courthouse - granted all closings may be premature but with all of the North end of the State closing, what would hurt to give employees and citizens with business there a little piece of mind in dealing with their children out of school. To make this decision would at least give the Probate Judge something to do besides walk around looking goofy with nothing else to do but admire his new palatial court room. What a joke!

Another "joke" is your goofy and impenetrable caption: "Lauderdale County Idiots can decided on closing." Next time you decide to post something, get your third grader to proofread it for you first.
LOL. This made me laugh because I didn't notice the typo at first.

I thought about people with kids out of school while I was listening to the closings. Giles County, TN, is telling 12 month employees to use discretion about going to work. And their county office will be open. I thought it was unfair to the employees. If they've got kids, their kids are obviously going to be out of school.

Better check your "Where's my global warming" post for some much-needed help on something other than spelling or grammar. You need help big time on that!

I think the schools jumped the gun - doesn't look like a flake fell last night. How ridiculous would it be if the courthouse was closed too?

School systems that bus students to and from school WILL CLOSE their respective schools IF there is ANY risk/potential risk for those bused students. If ONE bus cannot make its assigned route due to icy roads, flooded roads, etc, then the schools will close.
I live in Greenhill and when I got up at between 5:30 and 6:00 to let my dog out which is my normal time to get up to go to work (to school) my yard and porch were already covered from the first wave that came through. The second wave was suppose to come through around 7:00 or 8:00. If the buses had been able to get to school it was suppose to snow until around noon and the temps were not going to let the snow melt so how would you suppose the buses would get your children home today? It seems if a safe decision is made people fuss and complain and if safe a one is not made then we go to school and parents keep over half the kids at home and we can't go with instruction for that day and we catch it in the media for not cancelling school. So it's a no win situation...you can't make everyone happy. Everyone has to realize just because there's no snow in your front yard or the road in front of your house is not slick does not mean that all of the roads that the 100's of buses have to travel everyday aren't slick.

And your teeth need a date with the curb. You're such an ass.
If you spent the money to buy a computer and pay for being on the internet, I assume you keep your auto in topnotch condition. As a former teacher I can vouch for the fact that many children arrive at school in autos with faulty brakes, etc. Some autos weem to be held togehter with baling wire. They do not need to be driven on slick icy streets. BTW, once I was in the hospital and thought I had spent another sick day. I was later told that school had been cancelled. When I remarked the malls must hae been crowded by noon, a fellow teacher quipped, "10:00 o'clock!"
