Texas' lieutenant governor blames truck deaths on sanctuary cities that 'enable human smugglers'

Patrick, a Republican, posted on Facebook that the ‘tragedy’ is why he pushed a bill to ban sanctuary cities.

"Sanctuary cities entice people to believe they can come to America and Texas and live outside the law. Sanctuary cities also enable human smugglers and cartels. Today, these people paid a terrible price and demonstrate why we need a secure border and legal immigration reform so we can control who enters our country. We continue to pray for the families and friends of the victims," he posted.

Authorities were called to the parking lot late Saturday or early Sunday and found eight people dead inside the truck. Two additional victims died at the hospital, officials said.

The victims "were very hot to the touch. So these people were in this trailer without any signs of any type of water," San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said. Authorities would not say whether the trailer was locked when they arrived, but they said it had no working air conditioning.

It was just the latest smuggling-by-truck operation to end in tragedy. In one of the worst cases on record in the U.S., 19 immigrants locked inside a stifling rig died in Victoria, Texas, in 2003.

Sanctuary Cities might as well put out a Huge sign around it's City Limits. Bring your Smuggled illegal foreign folks "Here",  our laws are lax & don't enforce Federal immigration laws.. False Promises to poor illegals wanting to come to USA. Mexico and other central Americans countries, need to tell their folks the correct way to come to USA. But Why can't slum dewellers and other Gimmethats, in Norther U.S. Bankrupt Cities, tell their residents how to achieve the American Dream....I imagine the illegals have more "Desire to Achieve a Better Life".

Now I would like to know, Who Owned those SUV's picking up some of the illegals from inside the trailer, on Walmarts parking lot. Leaving the rest (38) to burn up... I can't help but think, those who remained inside, did not have enough money to finish paying the Cartel their final payments once arriving in San Antonio, or those SUVs were for the highest bidders in US Dollars.

The oncoming clash between federal and state authorities will be interesting.  When, ICE agents show up at state courthouses will judges attempt to bar them.  Will city or state authorities be stupid enough to threaten to arrest federal agents.

FYI, I see that Canada is increasing their border patrols to illegals fleeing from the US.  How will Canuck Prime Minister Selfie Zoolander explain this.

Some paid five to ten thousand for their seat in the truck. So much for poor and looking for a better life. If they can make that much they can make their living in mexico. Yes, who picked up some of the illegals and left the others? So much for the caring left, haven't seen them questioning the ones that left them. Other sites say the trailer wasn't locked. Many questions, but one thing is clear, there are about 70 or more illegals on the loose in the US.
