Love the Doug Jones signs:

You've got to love those Doug Jones signs in your neighbors yards. After years of living near these people that have the signs just confirms your thoughts you've had for years that they are insane, nuts, and ain't got sense God gave a jackask. Sure fire proof.

What's so scary is when Senators get elected, they most often get reelected for life.  Neither party really gave us the best candidates to choose from.  Or, are there just no politicians in the Montgomery "country club" that are up to the job?

On top of that, our other Senator is really getting old.  Is it such an easy street that someone would want to be in the Senate into their mid 80's?  Or is it that much fun that someone would want to be a Senator until the day they died?

Maybe if Big Luther had run on his own, without The Swamp putting $ millions and millions into his campaign, he'd have a better chance of being elected.  The ignorant voters also thought there were shennagans when Big Luther didn't really go after the Guv that put him into office.

I travel all over the valley. I've seen signs everywhere, from North Florence to Valdosta and from Zip City to Littleville... Many voters will choose Doug Jones for many reasons, not the least of which is that he's by far the lesser to two evils.

What cracks me up are all these people in Jones' commercial claiming to be Republicans and claiming they are shocked, shocked I tell you, about the accusations and that they just can't vote for Moore. Poor things, so easily upset. Yea, that makes sense, with no proof at all these "lifelong Republicans" take the word of POS Democrats and are in a commercial for Jones. Give us some proof! Not claims by women that worked/works for Hillary Clinton and other Democrats. If proven true I still won't vote for a Democrat, that would be crazy, but maybe the accusers wouldn't look like such low life liars.

No one in their right mind votes demoslop for any reason anymore. I will never, ever do it again.

While I doubt that I will vote for a Democratic candidate on a regular basis, it would be foolish for anyone, I say anyone, to announce they will never vote Democratic. The Moore/Jones race is hardly going to be the last where a morally degenerate Republican faces off against an intelligent, upright Democrat.

If a person always votes the party line, can you tell me exactly how he/she is different from a mindless automaton? And if the Republican Party becomes so sure of these mindless followers, what is to stop its members from actions so reprehensible they make Bolsheviks looks tame?

so, you expect Republicans to set up networks of camps and engineer planned famines to exterminate most of the Democrats?

You think those FEMA camps are still set-up? You remember, the FEMA camps where Obama was gonna put all the Republicans just after he took their guns?

The hypothetical victims might not be Democrats. Moore has indicated he thinks homosexuality should be criminalized. After criminalization comes incarceration, something not uncommon in the U.K. as recently as the 60s. If those of Moore's mindset should come to power, who would be next? Alcoholics? Adulterers? Quite a slipperly slope.

Of course, it's a worse case scenario and it's probably not coming to fruition in our life time...unless. What would happen if the Pacific states did decide to secede? How far would the powers that be in Washington, mainly Republican, go to hold together what was left of the union?

Then, while not related to party line voting, we could throw in the added plot device of Kim actually managing to bomb a U.S. target. That's a much more immediate scenario that could produce bi-lateral excess of power in the name of national security.

Bottom line: No one should vote simply for an "R" or a "D" unless they want to lose freedoms they've taken for granted their entire lives.

There are two examples in US history of people having their land and property seized. Then, relocated hundreds of miles away to camps in desolate lands. In both cases, the offending party was the Democrats.

Citing the Bolsheviki, who slaughtered tens of millions, is, at least, extreme.

So, Dire, you don't think it could happen again, and in exponential numbers? If we give any party that much control, what is to stop them? BTW, I'm a card-carrying Republican, but I also have a brain to assay the candidates and on very rare occasions vote Democratic.

No, I don't see Republican conservatives doing such.  History points towards the left being mass murderers.

Nothing foolish about it at all. Demoslops have proven they can't be trusted, and have no interest in the country except to divide and destroy it. Foolish are the so called Republicans saying they are so upset with Moore that they will vote for the POS demoslop. That's what's foolish and childish. There is another choice besides jones or Moore for the ones without a lefty agenda. There is no such thing as an intelligent upright demoslop, and foolish/ignorant is someone trying to claim there is one. Not sure if it's a case of a so called Republican telling us they are voting for a demoslop that is crazier, or them thinking anyone is crazy enough to buy their lie.

I seriously doubt you've ever voted for a Republican....

And I seriously doubt your ability to judge one's character. Here's a little something from 2007 describing the person for whom I speak:

You'll notice that while FV identifies as an Independent, she usually votes Republican.

I was sitting here thinking about our two past Republican senators.  When base closing were happening all over the country, Redstone Arsenal had huge  building projects bringing in the Army's bill payment operations.  They moved much of the Army helicopter operations up here, leaving just flight schools in S. AL.  So many other big money space, missile and armaments projects remain here.  The THADD system is fabricated in Courtland and shipped to Troy for final assembly.

We really need strong senators.  One's days in the senate is short and if the democrat is elected, he's a complete neophyte without U.S. Congress experience even.  We need experienced senators that can keep the projects and jobs in AL.  We are not going to have that shortly, unfortunately.

Ft. Rucker still has the mission of basic flight training on helicopters for all services and advanced training for the army.  There are no training units at Redstone Arsenal.  Almost no enlisted personnel are quartered there, the single barracks and dining facility are closed.  The largest unit with enlisted personnel is the AMC band.

Redstone, nicknamed "Pentagon South" is a major location for the HQ units that make major decisions for the military.  That's where the money is in DoD.
