Had lunch there a few days ago. Only thing good about the food was the slaw, which was the only thing I ate. Waitress acted like she was p*ssed to be waiting on us. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Just to clarify: It's wonderful if some of you love it there. I'm just giving my opinion of it & what a waste of money it was.

So many Southerners crave meat & 3--and good vegetables.

I just don't understand why restaurants sell out to low quality veggies?  Why cannot they hold up to the standards of Cracker Barrel?

Nashville is famous for their many great meat & 3 restaurants, and they're very successful.  And homemade pies is what pulls customers in.

Cracker Barrel is headquartered in Lebanon, Tennessee.  The model for Cracker Barrel's veggies is to be found in a local Mom and Pop restaurant that has been operating in Lebanon for over 60 years.  It is called the Sunset Restaurant.  You will not find better veggies anywhere, and their meats are good too, as are their biscuits and rolls.  The place is packed every day at lunch and most of the time at dinner, but the service is exceptional.  Even when the place is crawling with customers, they will get you served very promptly.  Be sure to order the creamed corn.

An Uncle Bud's catfish restaurant opened next door to Sunset a few years back.  I drove past that site several times over a several-month period and Sunset was always doing big business, but there were few cars at Uncle Bud's.  Do not try to compete with Sunset in Lebanon; you will likely go the way of Uncle Bud's. Most Lebanon natives I know--and I know a bunch, since my wife is from there--don't go to Cracker Barrel; they ride off to the Sunset.

I've never ate at Mama Jeans. I love Cracker Barrel though. I do a road trip out to Missouri where my brother lives at least twice a year. Always eat at Cracker Barrel and love it. I have never gotten a bad meal there. Never a bad experience either.

We have even eaten Thanksgiving dinner there several times and it was always exceptional.

Someone was right about finding so many Cracker Barrels in the south.  In Murfreesboro, every interstate exit has a C/B, with more in Antioch and Manchester.  They're everywhere down here.

When traveling for work to far off states on business, I'd run up on a Cracker Barrel.  It's great to keep your diet consistent on the road with your diet at home.  Nothing harder than going to California and having to eat "strange food."

But C/B's in places like York, PA have different items on the menu--like polish sausages.  But the same basics are always there.
