MUSCLE SHOALS — Police said a Colbert County man was naked and under the influence of drugs when he broke into a Muscle Shoals residence Tuesday and was run off by an armed teenager.

Kenneth Wade Johnson, 45, Lelia Lane, Tuscumbia, is charged with second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and indecent exposure, police said.

Johnson is accused of breaking into a residence on Camden Cove just before 11 a.m. Reports indicate Johnson is accused of going into the garage, which is attached to the house, taking off all his clothes and walking in on the homeowners’ two teenage sons.

Police said the boys are 15 and 17 years old.

“It’s my understanding the oldest boy got his father’s gun, and the younger boy called 911,” Muscle Shoals police Capt. Lanny Coan said.

Police said the boys ran the man out of the house. The man then started wandering around the neighborhood, according to reports.

Authorities said the man came back to the residence he broke into and was caught by police.

“He was in the front yard of the house when officers got there,” Coan said.

Police said the man, who admitted to taking drugs, had to be restrained to keep him from trying to harm himself. He told police a variety of stories, from being injected with drugs to smoking spice, which is a synthetic marijuana, and marijuana, authorities said.

“He said two men, (the ones he was supposed to be with when he was injected with drugs) dropped him off,”Coan said. “His mother lives in the area, and he told me he thought he was going to his mother’s house.

“I asked him if he took his clothes off when he went to his mother’s house. He couldn’t explain why he took his clothes off and then went into the house.

Johnson was in the Muscle Shoals City Jail without bail Wednesday.
