Whatever one thinks of Cheney, one may conclude from the above article Condie posted, is that the left will use Memorial day and veterans as cover for their innuendos and lies.

Cheney did not profit from any investments for contracts Halliburton made after Chaney became VP. Nor, did he retain stocks.

“Democrats pointed out that Cheney receives deferred compensation from Halliburton under an arrangement he made in 1998, and also retains stock options. He has pledged to give after-tax proceeds of the stock options to charity.

Cheney's aides defended the assertion on NBC, saying the financial arrangements do not constitute a tie to the company's business performance. They pointed out that Cheney took out a $15,000 insurance policy so he would collect the deferred payments over five years whether or not Halliburton remains in business.

Lautenberg, D-N.J., asked the Congressional Research Service to weigh in.
Without naming Cheney or Halliburton, the service reported that unexercised stock options and deferred salary "are among those benefits described by the Office of Government Ethics as 'retained ties' or 'linkages' to one's former employer."

Yes, Cheney received compensation for work performed while he worked there, but nothing based upon the support Halliburton received for contracts after he departed.

Cheney pledged to contribute any proceeds from the stock options to charity, if the options were used.  No record, so far, that he profited.

There is no hate like that of the left -- nothing is above their use to further that hatred.  Its more vicious than the mindless blood lust of a mink or wolverine, but one hopes, less than the blood lust of members of ISIS.

Dire and Worstthinking miss the point. Cheney, through his initial powerful influence and continuing influence in office , became a government vassal of  Halliburton, thus being instrumental in earning--not for himself, but for HALLIBURTON--the vast war profits they accumulated.  A careful reader of the item I posted would not conclude that the sneering varmint earned that loot ($39.5 billion)for himself.

it was obvious that Cheney did not earn the revenue for himself.  Why is the question?  What did it  profit Chaney -- so far zilch.  Halliburton got a short term no bid contract as they were the only company in the theater already building and maintaining installations -- for oil companies.  Subsequent contracts were subject to bid and competition.

Basically, the post is a dog chases tail example -- an article in search of a conclusion, other than defaming someone for something that didn't happen, of course.
