Hi all,

And, let's not forget that Jesus Christ, God, preexisting deity -- loves us so much that He set aside part of His divine nature and took on our human nature; to be the sacrificial Lamb of God, taking our place on the cross.  He became fully Man, while being fully God.

He could have come as an adult Man/God; but, instead, He chose to come just as we do -- born of a woman as an innocent, helpless infant.  He could have been born into a wealthy family.  Yet, He chose to be born into a poor family.

Jesus was a child just like you and me, needing His diapers changed, needing to be fed and nourished, needing the comforting touch of a loving mother, and needing a father to guide and teach Him as he grew.   He went through teen years just as you and I have done.   He had human brothers and sisters, like most of us.  And, I am sure that they had their sibling differences, as we did.  In other words, He was fully human, fully man.

Except that He was born sinless and stayed sinless for His entire life; He was just like you and me.

Imagine that.  He was a King who could have been an earthly king.  But, during His teen years, He worked as a carpenter.  During His adult years, during His earthly ministry, He did not even have a home or a bed He could call His own.

When He as 33 years old, He was humiliated, spit on, beaten, and abused.  Then, He was killed in the most cruel, degrading way known to man in that time, by Roman crucifixion.

He bore that cruel treatment and died on the cross to pay the sin debt you and I owe, but could never pay.  He took that death in my place, in your place, for every single person ever born on the earth.

Why?  So, that you, I, and all people may have the chance to, by the grace of God, through faith in His finished work on the cross -- believe and receive His "paid in full" free pardon from our death sentence.

But, to obtain that free gift, that "paid in full" free pardon -- each of us must individually accept it.  He will not force anyone to believe; that is a personal, individual choice: receive Him or deny Him.  Those who receive Him get up and walk out of their sin prison cell; those who deny Him remain locked in their sin prison cell.

This is the full meaning of Christmas.  That the Christ child came to do this just for YOU.  There is a beautiful Southern Gospel song which says:

He knew me, yet He loved me, He whose glory makes the heavens shine.
So unworthy of such mercy, yet when He was on the cross I was on His mind.

What have you done for Him?   Have you received His free gift of eternal life?   Or have you refused His free gift and chosen instead to spend eternity out of the presence of God.

This Christmas, as everyone is opening gifts and celebrating -- think about the price of HIs FREE GIFT offered to you.

God bless, and have a glorious, happy and Merry Christmas,

Bill
