Looks like Muscle Shoals is getting a Chick-Fil-A, and if I understand it right it will be next to Logan's and Ruby Tuesday in a out lot of the Southgate Mall. However, it will be next to Avalon rather than Woodward. I wonder are they giving them the same incentive as Zaxby's? I tried to post the Times Daily article but it wouldn't post like I wanted it to.

I heard Muscle Shoals gave Zaxby's a big incentive package. I understand maybe giving them 6 months-1 Year Tax Breaks but didn't the Times daily Article say they are giving Chick Fil A a 5 year tax break possibly? I seems to me they should give the big incentives to sit down restaurants and bigger retail stores rather than drive thru restaurants.

The city of Muscle Shoals purchased the old Backyard Burgers building and spent $800,000 to renovate the building. The city rented  the building to Zaxby’s for $2000 a month for 10 years and then $2500 for the next ten.  The city granted a 50 percent credit on sales taxes that will be applied to the lease payment.  A building like this would probably go for about 8 to 10 thousand a month. A big expense for taxpayers and a disadvantage for Zaxby’s competition.

I haven’t seen the giveaway the Chick store is getting.

Chick-fil-a should do very well in Muscle Shoals.  Glad to also hear of another Publix coming to the area although I wonder about the choice of location.  Either way I'm glad to see more jobs coming to the area, we need a lot more.   Wish there was a lot more higher paying jobs but who knows what's around the corner.

What is it with this area and the fascination with chicken joints ?
Wish we could get a good seafood place here, at least a Shrimp Basket.
I will eat chicken, but would rather have most any other kind of meat, especially good broiled fish  (flounder, salmon, are about my favorites, but I also like most any kind of fish).
Having said that, Logans and Ruby Tuesdays BOTH  have an awesome broiled salmon .

Somewhere around the 17th of the month (July that is) I understand that they are going to try and open the "French Quarters" which will be a Cajun type restaurant that does specialize (or at least the folks preparing the restaurant said) in Seafood, for one thing.

It's located beside Outback Steakhouse in the old building that used to house Dreamland BBQ and Sports Rock Club & Bar.  I don't know if they will make their time frame to open but should be sometime in the latter half of July that they will open.
