I think that people need to see these pictures to remind themselves how bad things were that day. I think some let it slip into the back of their minds. Seeing these photos helps keep it real in our minds. God bless the families affected by this horrific tragedy.

Agreed. But maybe this is just the first time anyone thought about obtaining them through the FOIA. All I was trying to do was provide available background info. That is why I did not represent the link as explaining why, just as "some information on that." I too would like to know just why these were so long in getting out.

I work at a bank and support our trading floor. Our traders talked to some of those guys in the towers every day. One of our guys was on the phone with one of them just minutes before the first plane hit. The guys on the floor were talking about it the other day. It was very sad.

It's still very difficult to remember. The photos are chilling, to say the least.

I wonder if the photos were seized as part of the investigation & have just been released...just a guess of course.

Didn't many 'news' outlet stop showing footage shortly after the event because it was "too traumatic"?
