that seems like that happened by total accident, and the fact that the family is suing just doesn't seem right if you ask me. sure that's definitely a horrible situation, but to use someone's death and mistake by a funeral home for personal gain just seems greedy to me. hell i'd been happy with a simple apology but i'm not the typical give me money money money american i guess.
OMG can you even imagine what you would do if that was your wife/mother/sister that had got killed then you left a bag full of personal belongings she had, in your truck. The next day it stinks so bad and to open it and find a brain, blood, and other gruesome articles in the bag, wouldn't u be upset too? I know i would.
Funeral homes make loads of money and overcharge for a lot of what they sell people. The argument in favor of their practices is, "You are not really buying a casket. You are paying for a service." They say they are doing something distasteful for us...something people used to do for their relatives but now we hire someone to handle that dead body.

So, by this definition that family does deserve to at least get their money back because they ended up having to see and handle and SMELL their relative's bloody rotting brain.

The fact that each funeral home is blaming the other indicates that they know this was not 'just a little mistake'. I would say it is at least a breech of contract. They wanted their relative completely cremated and buried...no one could ever expect to get a bag o' brains.
