The complaint often is heard from conservatives that the history books provided in the public schools have been tampered with by biased progressives to neglect some of the more glorious parts of American history.  That might be true, but it is equally true the many of the inglorious parts of American history are neglected in schoolbook accounts of this nation's socio-political history. here is one such story:
