As you watch Obama take credit for Iraq please bear in mind he opposed and voted against the surge that won the war and he didn't have anything to do with the timetable for withdraw. This was worked out by the Status of Forces Agreement which was signed under Bush. So as he takes credit tonight remember this.

I said a dozen times he would do exactly what Bush or McCain would have with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan and he has.

Meanwhile Gitmo still isnt' closed, the Obama administration is using Bush era legal precedent to hold prisoners indefinitely and no one bats a eye. I suppose none of this matters under Obama. Well at least Don't ask don't tell was repealed........ Oh wait never mind.

Everyone makes mistakes. OBama's mistake didnt kill a few hundred thousand people. But, Iraq is now a peaceful democracy, and a strong ally. Hopefully, Iraq is ready to go to war with Iran without US assistance.
Eeker
What in the world have you been smoking? If these folks had trees they would be back in them, killing each other and boiling them in a pot. THEY DON'T WANT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. Obama, Bush or anybody else I think would fail at this war. MHO
Will someone please explain the following from your post; "won the war" "peaceful democracy" "strong ally".
These are some of the most ill-informed. mis-guided statements I have seen posted on here in a long time. I suppose next you will be posting that this mess in that region only cost "a few thousand dollars" And then you state that hopefully Iraq is "ready to go to war with Iran"

Did you even read what you posted? Just wondering.
You just have to put on your happy face. al-qaeda is a tiny organization, and we have killed less than 1000 verifiable members since 2001. And just For Ronnie P to Google:

Two years ago, I interviewed Jack Cloonan, a 25-year veteran of the FBI who, between 1996 and 2002, served on a joint CIA–FBI task force that tracked bin Laden. “How many members of Al Qaeda do you think there are?” he asked me. Cloonan laughed when I pegged its membership at several thousand. The real numbers, he said, “are miniscule.”

Documents discovered by the joint task force, Cloonan said, showed that Al Qaeda had 72 members when it was founded in 1989. Twelve years later, the task force got its hands on an updated membership list after a CIA Predator destroyed a building near Kabul during the American invasion of Afghanistan. The membership list was discovered in the rubble, along with dozens of casualties, including Mohammed Atef, one of bin Laden's closest aides. It showed that bin Laden had a grand total of precisely 198 sworn loyalists. (Hirsh's Newsweek article said that the intelligence community “generally agrees that the number of true A-list Al Qaeda operatives” at the time of 9/11 probably between 500 and 1,000, most of them in and around Afghanistan.)

We have been fighting a war that we cannot win, as the enemy will never surrender nor cease to be a threat. We have lost 3000 + 4500 + untold others in the future in Astan and elsewhere on a War that is really just a police action.

Neither did Bush, the UN and Iraq agree deaths caused by the war are under 100,000. Most killed by the jehadim.

Unless Juan is an ex-FBI agent named Ken Silverstein, the above is another example of his plagiarism.
