May I suggest the Kentucky-LSU game on ESPN?

Few words out of Barry O's mouth the last year have been the truth--about anything.   I don't suspect 1/28/2014 to be any different.

It's a waste of so many television channels to broadcast more lies.

I really don't know any one person that will be tuning in to The State of the Union address.

The only way I will watch this crap is if there are no reruns of Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo available on Netflix.  I had rather watch monkeys copulate than to listen to his snide remarks and more attempts to create class warfare.  the best way to stop a snakeoil salesman is to walk away and not listen to his diatribe.

I watched. All of these job programs and education programs he mentioned can be handled on the state level with the funds allocated much more efficiently than from the federal level.

The minimum wage argument is strictly a political argument that has little to no economic benefit.

Props to him on the gay equality and his willingness to simply the corporate tax code.

I tuned out during some of the presentation as I was sending out emails while watching. However, all of the SOTU addresses end up sounding the same to me. It doesn't matter if it was W or Barack. They say some stuff to get everyone clapping and then they say some stuff to get half the audience to clap.

And more lemmings jump off the cliff.......haha

Love the new federal workers minimum wage of $10.10.  The truth behind that is that it does not take effect until 2015.  It only affects NEW government contracts, and even then there are less than 2% of those workers who make less than this amount.  of course, his loyal followers will herald this as new mandate that will change the forces of nature, but in reality it is nothing more than a PR stunt to attract votes.  According to some I heard this morning, this was probably the least watched SOTU address in decades.  Over 67% of Americans currently view the country is either headed the wrong direction, or stagnant, and feel pessimistic about our future.  then they are those who drank too much of the KooAid and are still drunk with delirium.

Not true for us and I woulld think not for others as your pay is set by the contract agreement.

Thanks for clarifying the info Hiflyer. This was posted on another website as a point that in government contracts if the minimum wage is raised by $3, the same must occur to Union wages for the job.  If that is true, it would certainly be a much larger cost to the government than the initital assessment. Don't work for the Union, so I cannot say, so i appreciate your expertise in the matter.

The federal contract workers affected by the new wage increase will mainly be those cutting the grass and working in kitchens as KPs.  A few handfuls, at best.

More federal job training programs must what we need.  A couple of years ago, a GAO report identified numerous programs with overlaps and no evidence that the programs were reviewed for results.

The federal government hosts 47 job-training programs, 44 of which overlap. It runs 80 programs for the "transportation disadvantaged."

Another 82 programs spread across 10 separate agencies endeavor to improve teacher quality -- something hundreds of local school districts are already focused on.

As to this year, I already posted the results of polls amongst small businesses.  They are hunkering down and going into survival mode - few new hires or expansion.
