Jt will jump in and call this couple liars. This is from al.com. Al.com is more lefty slanted than Hillary herself. They are always carrying the lefties' water.

Doug and Pat Hoffman are in their early 60s and purchase insurance coverage through the marketplace. Both recently retired from full-time employment and don't receive insurance through the workplace. The Hoffmans don't qualify for tax credits and have paid full price for coverage.

This year, the couple paid $1,270 per month for a silver plan from UnitedHealth. Next year, they will probably pay $1,621 a month for a bronze-level plan that has higher deductibles and co-pays. Hoffman and his wife will have to pay more than $6,000 out-of-pocket before insurance coverage even kicks in. He estimates that he and his wife will spend more than $22,000 on health insurance and routine medical care in 2017.

"We're not going to go to the doctor unless it's absolutely necessary," Hoffman said. "When I go, I will want to know what that doctor is charging me for every test and procedure. I'm going to drive my doctors crazy with questions about the necessity of every order."

Desperation met stupidity on the corner of bad luck and despair, and the democratic party was born.

The man with the $7800.00 deductible said if he got ill enough to require medical help he'd just have to die, because there is no way he can pay that. But the ignorant slops asks "what was his deductible before"!

The unaffordable care act is an attack on the middle class working person by the democratic party. It had nothing to do with insuring the uninsured, but taking away from people who did have affordable insurance without government interference.  Those of us nearing retirement age, who have built up a "nest egg" will be denied the medic care that we paid for, to make sure that free loaders have health coverage.  It's just more " we need to spread the wealth around" bull $ h I t!

Does that mean their income is higher than the threshold for tax credits on insurance?

Dire, are you saying there are 24 million more people without health insurance now than before Obama was in office?

JT, I've posted this about 5 times.

"Three years ago, on the eve of Obamacare’s implementation, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projected that President Obama's centerpiece legislation would result in an average of 201 million people having private health insurance in any given month of 2016. Now that 2016 is here, the CBO says that just 177 million people, on average, will have private health insurance in any given month of this year—a shortfall of 24 million people."

The CBO report reveals an even more serious problem. Per the report:

"Now that 2016 is here, the CBO says that just 177 million people, on average, will have private health insurance in any given month of this year"

Per a 2009 Bureau of the Census report entitled,

Income, Poverty, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2008

http://www.census.gov/prod/2009pubs/p60-236.pdf

The number of people covered by private healthcare in 2009 was 201 million.  After billions spent, after millions losing the insurance they had, after so many lies by the administration, the net result is that 24 million less have insurance now, than before the debacle.  Even at the best, the projected number covered would be 201 million -- the status quo ante.  Why in the world, did the government do anything.
