He's created plenty of jobs. Someone has to process ALL those new unemployment claims. I'm sure there weren't enough people doing that job before he came into office. There's no way the unemployment agency would be able to keep up without hiring more people.
I'm right 97% of the time. Who cares about the other 4%?!?

If you want to create jobs, limit unemployment benefits. Why would someone work at McDonald's or cut grass when they can make more by sitting on the couch? Not to mention when you extend unemployment benefits, which is a major part of the jobs bill being created now, small business owners have to pay that in the form of additional taxes. No one, in their right mind, is going to hire someone to get 5,000 tax credit when it will cost them 10 times that much in terms of total compensation plus additional payroll taxes.
The governments role is to create a atmosphere where businesses flourish. Why would someone invest or expand their business in this environment where business is demonized. As soon as it was clear Obama was to become the next president businesses manufacturers shed ten to twenty five percent of their work force.
My family member is a prime example. He's been out of work over a year now. Doesn't care if he has a job or not and Nobama extends his unemployment pay. His attitude is why should I work when the government pays me anyway. Thanks Obama we really appreciate all you've done to improve the economy. Wait, you've done nothing, so I don't appreciate you.

Or maybe it's because he's accomplished absolutely NOTHING on his list.
And, flotown, do you believe the stimulus worked and created jobs?

For me personally, it did not help me but there are some where it saved their jobs or created jobs. So if you ask the person that was about to lose their home and was called back on the job, I am sure they will say yes it helped.

Even some Repub leaders have said publicly and on their web sites that the funds have helped in their areas.

I am the type that does not mind paying a little more to help keep my neighbor in his/her home. Because if their home is foreclosed on it causes my home value to drop. So I look at it as helping a neighbor and helping myself at the same time.
The problem with the stimulus and this new jobs bill is that the jobs saved or created are temporary positions so they might have some short-term benefits. However, they are not jobs that promote long-term growth. You can only update a sewer line so many times. If you want to stimulate the economy give all businesses tax cuts and pay for it by shrinking the federal payroll.
That didn't really answer my question. If you want to argue semantics, every person in the US who has maintained a job since Obama came into office has had his/her job saved. The stimulus can't possibly compete with what's going on around the country. Too many employers aren't willing to spend money or hire more employees because they're unsure what the future holds under the current administration. How do you fix that? Tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts. Obama was threatening tax increases for MILLIONS of small business that brought in $250,000 a year or more. Do you realize that $250,000 wouldn't even pay the salaries of the personnel of most small business, much less cover expenses? A good number of the layoffs were implemented to beat the tax hikes to the punch.

As a strong proponent of lower taxes (actually no taxes, but that's another discussion), you have GREATLY over-simplified the US's economic woes.

You asked me a question and I gave you an honest answer. My job was not saved because I am in the military and we are always hiring. So I used my neighbor as an example. So yes there are some people that did benefit from the stimulus package. One happens to be my neighbor. Since he was called back to work, he is now able to pay for his home. Paying for his home and keeping it out of foreclosure helps maintain the value of my home. So I guess I would have to say I have benefited after all.
