This came in my e mail today. http://www.democrats.com/outofiraq
It is from Democrats.com, a progressive faction in the Democratic National party.

I think it is an excellent way to speak, directly to our representatives about the Iraq war, but a note of caution. If you use this link to support the "surge" (escalation) or to insist that we "win" the war, it will register as opposition to the war anyway.

Feel free to use the link. After the subtle wedge driven between Sunni and Sheite by Mr Bush in the State of the Union address, it would appear that if we can't make an impression now, about Iraq, we may be Protesting a war with Iran in a few months.

Oh gosh, I am not sure if I have the energy to even witness another war protest... especially if this turns out like the last one I watched from the television...

Gotta do some thinking and read that article when I have time... but it is almost work time here!!!

A peaceful march, letting the President KNOW that we want our boys/girls home is one thing... a "protest" makes chills run down my spine, ya know?

Sorry to digress here: But on the link you post here, on thr right of that web page is a poll showing Al Gore at 41% on the Presidential Primary Poll. Do democrats posting here agree with that too?

Staying on topic, Brentenman: I would speak verbatim with you. It loses with me too, especially Sean Penn and the likes.

This Democrat does, but that does not mean that I think Gore is the best choice. I would vote for him in a heartbeat. Did vote for him come to think of it, BUT... I think I would rather see, Obama, Edwards, Richardson, or Carol Mosely Braun at the top of the ticket.

Any march with: Cindy Sheethan (who protests the U.S. in such locales as Cuba and Venezuela), Hanoi Jane Fonda, Hollywierd, etc. instantly loses credibility...

BRENTENMAN. At least they still have some credibility to loose.

This war in Iraq has devestated Ameican influence almost everywhere, including inside the USA. It has triggered a world wide arms race, it has renewed alliances that were set aside when the US declared Victory in the Cold War. It has caused an accelleration of arms in Venezuela, China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, and a few other regions. It has pushed the Chinese to WIDEN the locks on the Panama Canal to allow larger tankers from Eastern South America to pass and reach the far east whithout going round the south end of South America.
Our foreign policy, and adventurism in Iraq has put EVERY American corporation doing business outside the country at risk of loosing their factories, and workers.
In a heavy handed effort to protect the safety of Americans, Mr Bush has devestated the Security of Americans at home and abroad.

Kindred,
Perhaps it would have been wise to make the "Virtual" part of the march more clear. THE OBJECT IS TO GET THOUSANDS OF E MAILS TO REPRESENTATIVES. Not millions of boots. No invasion is planned, JUST THE SHOCK AND AWE OF AN AVALANCHE OF HARMLES messages from people all over the country who say, every day, " but it is almost work time here!!!," Kindred Spirit, and about 100 million other fed up Americans with lives to live.
This is a direct quote from John Murtha.

"Unacceptable. A rapid escalation of troops is just simply unacceptable. About five months ago, we put more troops in Baghdad and unfortunately, attacks increased and a record number of Americans and Iraqis were killed. President Bush's "new strategy" just demonstrates his plans to once again ignore the will of the people, the advice of his commanders, the Baker-Hamilton commission, and even some in his own party.

On November 7, American voters delivered a powerful message to President Bush that they wanted a new direction in Iraq. As the nation watched President Bush's speech, it became clear that he chose to once again ignore their call for change.

I ask you today to stand with me as we tell President Bush that his plan to rapidly escalate this war sends the wrong message to Iraqi leaders, provides no credible benchmarks or ways to measure progress and worst of all ignores the will of the American people. Sign our petition to President Bush and tell him that you stand with the Democratic Leadership, and his plan is not the will of the people.

Tell President Bush his new plan for Iraq is not the will of the people"

Just send the whole quote. IS THE PERFECT LETTER TO ANY OTHER CONGRESSMAN. Just copy, paste, and e mail ... get your congressman from this website, complete with a form to send him mail. http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/
