Hi Looking,

Once again, I ask you to be specific in where my writings have been caustic.  Just because you do not agree with me -- does not make my writings caustic.

In the Bible, Jesus often disagreed with the Pharisees.  Does that mean that you believe Jesus was being caustic with the Pharisees?

You tell me that you joined the TimesDaily Forums in 2010 -- and are just now posting.  Why?  One does not have to become a registered member to read the forums.  So, if this is the case, why did you register in 2010 -- and wait three years to post?

Once again, this is not meant to be nasty, or caustic as you suggest, only asking -- why did you join and then walk away without posting anything?  Just curious.

Were you maybe posting under a different pseudonym for those years?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Yes, crusty you did call it.

Bill Gray,  do you realize people can disagree without being disagreeable?

Do you read people's comments? I explained when you originally questioned my having been a member since 2010, that I joined, lurked a while and then lost interest. I suppose there was a thread that I intended to comment on that led me to sign up, but to be perfectly honest I have no idea why I signed up and never commented.  I have signed up on many forums that I never commented on as my forum behavior tends to echo my real life behavior, I generally listen more than I talk. I didn't even remember signing up and only found the forum again when I was deleting sites I no longer visit from my Roboform software.

Suspicious much? Why would I have been posting under a different pseudonym for those years?

I am beginning to think that deciding to participate now was a mistake, because this discussion has become a pointless exercise in futility.  It kind of feels like trying to reason with my two year old grandson.

Billy, Billy, Billy........you poor old fool!

I've about decided that you were raised in a home with hate. Never any love shown to you & that's why you are constantly spewing your hate messages on this forum. It's what you were raised with so that's what you continue to show others. I feel so sorry for your wife & step-children.

Do you believe that because Jesus got angry & physically drove moneychangers out of the temple that it's your calling to drive people away from any form of Christianity? I know what you are, I know who your master is but the other people on this forum believe you to be a Christian. That in itself is very sad.

You don't fool me, I know what the Bible says & what it teaches. I may not be sure if it's true but if it is, you are not the Christian the Bible speaks of. You, sir, are a false prophet.

False prophet’s lead people into rebellion, tell people lies, practice impurity, debauchery, idolatry, hatred, discord, jealousy, selfish ambition, dissensions, envy, enslavement to sin. You are a perfect example of someone that work's for Satan..

First, you have been a TimesDaily Forum member since 2010.   And, second, please give me an example of my "caustic and mean sounding" comments; also, where I have been "less than gracious in welcoming you."

One must be willing to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Written Word of God, if you are a Christian.  Most of what I have seen my Roman Catholic Friends sharing on the Religion Forum and on Facebook -- is what comes from Catechisms and other Vatican sponsored or written books.

Roman Catholics look for a "nihil obstat" approval from a Roman Catholic censor and an "imprimatur" from a Roman Catholic bishop or higher to validate a book worth studying.

Personally, I look for a book stamped Holy Bible, Written Word of God -- to validate the book worth studying.

The first is produced from the minds of men.  The latter was produced from the mind of God.  Personally, I will go with God every time.

A real Christian would lay all those other books aside -- and share from the Bible.  But, then, a real Christian sees the Bible as the sole authority from God for salvation and Christian living.  We do not need to be force-fed from man-written books and commentaries; we share the Bible.   And, we also know that Sola Scriptura is valid for a reason -- for God only gave us one book -- His Bible, 66 books written by chosen men under His inspiration, inerrant, and the literal Written Word of God.  Yes, Sola Scriptura, God's Scripture alone.

My Friend, you speak of "living the Bible" -- yet, no one casts more aspersions, throws more mud, on the Religion Forum than you.  No one expresses more hate on the forum than you.   Yet, you speak of "living the Word."   My Friend, living the Word does not mean attending mass every week, praying the Rosary to Mary every day, and worshiping idols daily.

No, living the Word means being willing to share His Word, to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world -- even when the world, all world religions, are throwing rocks at us for sharing His Gospel.

I have been doing Christian apologetic, edification, and encourgement writings for over 20 years, sharing His Word with the world.

What have you been doing -- besides praying to Mary and throwing rocks at anyone who knows enough to expose the erroneous teachings of the Roman Catholic church?  No one throws more rocks and mud -- than you.  Is that what you call being a good Roman Catholic?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Will I waste my time searching the archives to find such instances?  No.  But, if you would promise to never be nasty to me again when I do refute Roman Catholic doctrines -- then, I would apologize just to allow us to start fresh.  Are you game?

I sincerely would like for us to be Friends.  But, I will not say that false teachings are true -- just to gain that.

The most devout, and most misled, atheist -- very often will have all those attributes.   But, he/she is most certainly not a Christian believer.

And, the more that atheists, secularists, agnostics, and other non-believers scream what a wonderful person a Christian is -- we have to wonder what has happened to that person's Christian witness.  If all the anti-God crowd loves you -- are you really being a good witness for Christ to the lost?

How many folks who are guilty of a sin, or a crime, when confronted with that crime -- will thank you for confronting them?   No, most will get angry and most likely even call you derogatory names.

Luke 21:17, "And you will be hated by all because of My name."

John 15:18. "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you."

Notice that Jesus does not warn us that the world will LOVE us for His sake -- but, that the world will HATE us because of His name.

Once again, my question to you is -- when all the atheists, secularists, agnostics, and other non-believers all shout how wonderful you are -- are you sure you have been truly sharing the Word of God with them?  Even Jesus Christ was not liked by all.  But, then, He was not trying to be liked by all.

Or, have you been looking for the secular world's approval?   Seeking the approval of the world -- is not what Jesus Christ meant when He said that believers should be His witnesses in all the world.

To me, you seem to be playing the "Feel Good" card -- make all the non-believers feel good about you and your Christian faith -- so that they will cheer for you.  My Friend, I sincerely think you should rethink that position.

If Richard Dawkins were on this Religion Forum -- do you think he would cheer louder if VP spit on Bill Gray -- or if VP spit on the Bible?  The only time he would want her to spit on Bill Gray is when Bill Gray is defending God and the Bible.   And, I believe our local non-believers fit into the same mold.

So there you have it Billie... No one could agree that those comments are from a true Christian... Certainly not a gentlman... You owe Veep one HUGE apology! I for one will continue to remind you of this obligation... I'm very patient.... You can run, and hide, and duck, and evade forever... But in the end, Billie, I'll always be there to remind you...

Hi Dove,

While you have rambled through a lot of my comments -- and I will have to take your word that when you bolded, change text color, and whatever else you did -- that you did not change what I had originally written.  Over the past seven years, there have been Forum folks who have done that; so, you would not be the first.  I guess that honor belongs to our old adversary, Fish.  He got caught with his pants down a number of times.

However, in all that rambling, my original question that I asked Chick still stands: "So, my Friend, please show me where I have called VP a derogatory name or belittled her."

Nowhere in all that rambling post of your have you shown that I have belittled VP, nor that I have called her a derogatory name.

Yes, I have disagreed strongly with her; yes, I think most of her Roman Catholic doctrines are not Biblical.  But, writing that is only refuting false teachings, teachings which are not found in the Bible.  It is not being nasty, nor belittling, nor calling anyone derogatory names.

But, you go on happily skipping down your path, believing whatever you want.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

One other thought- you are questioning "looking" - why be a member and not post on the religion forum? Well maybe, just maybe he/she is one of those thousands of readers (who agree with you) that "read but never post". Your own arguments are coming back to bite you- you should put your tail between your legs while you still have some dignity.

That ship sailed a long time ago.

Typical of a person suffering from NPD that they belittle and denigrate others, can't see it, but even the slightest disagreement cast their way is an attack. It is also typical of NPD that someone believes that there are thousands of people reading and adoring him, but should one finally post and be slightly out of step, they have nefarious reasons for not posting all this time.

Everybody on the forum - including the thousands of people that don't post - can see what is going on here and in another thread, where Johhny claims that Contendah has called him names.

Johhny, as we know, has full blown NPD.  I don't know how Dory puts up with it.

WHAT????

When I first read this, I couldn't believe my eyes! Then I realized that I was dealing with a delusional idiot... I noted the date on each posting... All you had to do was go back and see what you had written... No, you wouldn't do that... You are in the avoidance mode... You are so sick that you can't see what others are seeing and how great a liar you are! You are so low on the scale of the human species that you are not worthy of any further reading of your garbage.

P-L-U-N-K !!!!!!!

Wow, Bill, in your "Why Christian Apologetics" thread you said, "So, yes, my Friend, as long as God wills it -- I will be on the Religion Forum with my apologetic writings, defending the Christian faith. But, you will notice that I do NOT attack an individual -- I only refute any false teachings that person may attempt to present on the Forum as truth. ", and then you post in this thread accusing Dove of being sneaky and dishonest by changing what you had originally written! Do you not realize that your accusation was an attack on Dovel? Seriously, can you not see that things like that are the reason people here dislike you?  And I DIDN"T change a word you wrote.

Hi Looking,

No, my Friend, I did not ACCUSE Dove of changing what I wrote.  I merely said that since his post was long and rambling, I did not read through it to see if he had changed anything.

And, I reminded him that this has been done in the past.  Our old Friend, Fish, was notorious for doing this -- and for making up supposed posts and declaring that another member had written it.  He pulled a few other underhanded tricks for which the TD Mods had to slap his wrist.

There have also been a couple of others who have copy/changed what another had written.

So, I wrote to Dove:

And I will have to take your word that when you bolded, change text color, and whatever else you did -- that you did not change what I had originally written.  Over the past seven years, there have been Forum folks who have done that; so, you would not be the first.  I guess that honor belongs to our old adversary, Fish.  He got caught with his pants down a number of times.

Glad we could straighten out this little misunderstanding.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Vic,

The Gospels were written as mythology.  Mythology borrowed from various sources available 2000 years ago.  They were written as profitable scribblings in the time.
Modern, realistic analysis of the  books of the New Testament show them to be mythological in nature.
Take, for one example, the idea that the Gospels are written in the third person.  Surely, the authors were not there.  They are stories written in the hero/god fashion of the time.

see Richard Carrier or Bart Ehrman for reference.

Hi Looking,

What I said was that, since I did not read Dove's long, rambling diatribe -- I am not sure if he changed what I had written or not.  Can you deny that it is possible that someone could copy/paste another's writing and change it?   So, since I did not read his writing -- I had no way of knowing.

As I said, I have seen it done on the Religion Forum -- by several people.  Fish was one of them.  And, I will just leave the others unnamed.   But, it has been done.

That was the full intent of my comment.  If Dove did not change it; he has no reason to feel guilty.  If he did, that is another story.  And, just a point -- Dove has not denied it!   ? ? ?  Just saying!

Listen Troll.... Either you were trying through your innuendo to call me a liar or you were too lazy to go back and read your own postings! And, lieing Troll, I did, in fact, deny it by pointing out that I had noted the date of each quote so it would be very easy to go back read your own words! You are nothing but a lowly snake who is doing Satan's work...I'm sick of watching you attack the good people of this forum and often going without a response because some are frightened with your trash talk... I recognize you for the ignorant bully forum leader wannabe that you are... God's minister indeed! You are Satan's personal troll! Were I to conduct myself as you, I would bury my head on shame! You will be held responsible before God for your words on this forum... You frighten me not for I know you for what you are... And I will always be here to call you out for your crass treatment of others on this forum whom you are so ignorant as to call your friends...

Begone Troll !!!!!

Generally,(but not always) I will not say anything in opposition to a Christian religion post unless it is posted by another Baptist. Doesn't matter if it's a Southern, General. Missionary, Free Will, Independent, etc Baptist or maybe even a United Methodist as I used to be a member of and still occasionally attend services at a UMC Church. My Church membership at the time is at a Church which is part of the Southern Baptist Convention. I will also occasionally comment on non Christian posts such as Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Atheist, Buddhist, Muslim, etc but anyway, I will not likely even read (much less comment) on posts outside that realm as our Baptist and UMC Churches have not yet been perfected (but once they are then I will start looking for faults on others). Anyway, I have not read any of the posts on this thread, I only saw the John Deere logo and thought, oh, another Baptist besides Bill so I opened it in anticipation of having some meaningful dialogue only to find that it was Vic, the guy who changes avatars almost as often as Bill Gray starts new threads from other topics.

Thanks, deep.. Very kind words. It's a complex thing, isn't it? What drives human behavior? I think for me it is two-fold ; first of all, yes- I strive to function well in a social atmosphere, there is somewhat o an innate sense of "do right", cause no harm, in all of us. Except sociopaths and others included in the DSM-R textbook. It is our nature as social, compassionate people to be good. Having said that, I also do have to stop before speaking, and wonder "does this glorify God?" Just an added element to an innate characteristic. ;-) cheers

WRONG.  No insect flies that fast.  According to the Smithsonian Institution:

"The Fastest Flying Insect: Dragonflies are known to travel at the speed of 35 miles an hour. Hawk Moths, which have been clocked at a speed of 33.7 miles an hour, come in second."
