While driving thru Mexiville, oops, Russellville last night, I noticed Michael's Chinese Restaurant is gone & is now Panda Buffet. Anyone know why Michael left? What kind of food Panda is?

Cool maybe they serve real Panda.
Is it listed on the menu in black and white?
Panda buffet is Chinese, I believe. If panda's on the menu, let me know. Yum!

Panda meat is gamy and stringy. It is OK if sliced very thin for sandwiches, but use a pretty strong dressing such as horseradish mustard. Do NOT allow any PETA representative to know what is in that sandwich.
At one point in time there was a Michael's Chinese restaurant in Florence down the block from Kmart. I wonder if that one in Russelville was the same bunch ?
Nothing but the name changed. Same food, nothing any different. Still bad..........
Is there such a thing as a really good Chinese buffet? Yeah I'll eat at them but they generally come okay, nasty and let me outta here!
If your only concern is quantity you will like it. If quality, taste and flavor are a concern go somewhere else.
It isn't even close to being a Panda Express much less a PF Changs.
The best Chinese cuisine is a form of buffet -- Dim Sum. Hard to find in the US, unless there is a large Chinese presence. They bring around steam tables and bill by the item. Nearest is Ding How II in Huntsville. I believe its presented on Sunday brunches.

Sorry to hear that but I figured as much. I've been meaning to eat there to see if anything had changed. I was going by the assumption that anything would have to be better than when it was Michael's. The last time we ate there it was terrible. The only thing that was half way decent was the fried rice and I can make that at home.
Seven, don't waste your time or money. All that's changed is the name.
Thanks semi, nope, no sense in wasting money on something that is still terrible. I'd heard several people say the same thing before even reading this thread.
Evergreen Chinese Buffet next to the car dealership on Florence Blvd has pretty good food. They have a selection of raw meats that you can have cooked to order. The interior of the building needs some serious renovation, but the food is good and prices reasonable.
Anyone know what happened to Harvest Buffet in Muscle Shoals? When did it close? I admit it was a long while since I ate there but I really liked it. It was always clean with good service and the food was really good.

Is it in the building that was once a steak house next to the Dodge/ Chrysler dealer? I'll have to check it out the next time i'm in the area.
I long for the good old days living in Atlanta when we'd eat oriental foods over on Buford Highway in Chamblee. Most of the Far East citizens have moved to the NE corner of the city.
A really nice restaurant custom cooking Chinese, Korean and Thai foods is very enjoyable.
Actually, I don't long for anything in Atlanta except for the food and great shopping. I'll take St. Florian's rush hour over Atlanta's any day.

Yes. It's been several restaurants over the years.
