I don't want to insult anyone's intelligence here but after looking at what the Democrats and Republicans have done to this country, to you and yours, I'll ask:

How in the world, in honesty and good conscience, could you ever vote for anyone in those parties?

Is it out of fear that other people, in their ignorance or stupidity would vote the other party in office?

Is it that you judge politicians and their spokespeople by what they say and not what they do?

I've posted legit sources on TRILLIONS of dollars missing and unaccounted for from the Pentagon alone, of Billions of dollars spent automobiles, food, alcohol and hookers.

Why would we allow this to happen?

Who do you think is going to pay for this rape of the American people?

"Social Security of course isn't the only program for which the government is accumulating long-term liabilities. There is also Medicare.
According to the Trustees, Medicare has an actuarial deficit of $8.5 trillion. This measure, however, is even more misleading in the case of
Medicare than of Social Security. Not only does it count illusory trust-fund assets, it ignores trillions of dollars in very real Medicare spending, including the new prescription drug benefit, because it is paid for outside the Hospital Insurance program, the trust-fund financed portion of Medicare. If we include all Medicare spending--and extend the calculation over an infinite time horizon--Medicare's true liability turns out to be $62 trillion, or seven times its official actuarial deficit. The combined liability for the two major senior entitlements thus comes to $74 trillion."

Miami... those are great questions, and I can SO agree with them.. .. but to be REAL here, we ALL know that either a Dem. or a Rep. will win, so to vote IND. or for someone else really messes up the election processes.

The outcome of a Presidental Election, the MOST important election in the land, could change drastically by going anything but Dem. or Rep. I know that is sad, but it is true. Roll Eyes

miamizsun, If the coffee is too hot, add ice cubes. If the system is headed for deficit, add more money. In this case, "Medicare," the solution of the problem is throw more money at it. If the Cure is worse than the disease, let the disease run its course, or find a different cure.

You and I alone or even just you and I together don't have trillions of dollars. BUT, THE USA DOES.
Us commoners are going to die when we get old, some sooner, some later, but ALL OF US ARE ON THE WAY OUT.

You and I are the benefactors of the rich. They are DEPENDENTS. We are the providers.

Propoganda has convinced us that we are the DEPENDENTS, and the rich are the providers, and it has us believing that we should take the pittance they offer and be grateful.

We earned not only that pittance, but the entire wealth of this nation was earned by productive people working for a myriad of common goals. The only thing the wealthy provide are the common goals, and a fraction of the value produced.
Yep, Democrats or Republicans we've got the best politicians money can buy. Roll Eyes
I read where it was estimated that campaigning through the primaries and the presidential election would cost the nominees, Republican and Democrat, 300 to 400 million dollars each. Whew, buying an election ain't cheap. Wink
Regardless of party or philosophy, where do you think that money will come from ? By and large liberal groups will support Democrats and conservative groups will support Republicans. The real moneymen will hedge their bets and support both. In the last Presidential election for example, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and J P Morgan Co. donated $800,000+ to George Bush. But those three also donated $800,00+ to John Kerry.

As long as we continue to replace dumb with dumber ( or dumber with dumb, depending on which side of the aisle your on) this country will continue it's downward spiral. We'll end up replacing one rich lawyer with another. "And the beat goes on" just as it has for the last 50 years .

vote-em-all-out
Sam (Jack McCoy) Weatherson is trying to get a 3'rd party together for 2008. Some kind of on-line primaries.
I thought a third party would be a good thing until Ralph Nader came along and gave us Bush.
Having been around a long time, I have come to the conclusion that our country works best, when there is divided government.
During the 60's the Democrats had all the power, and screwed it up.

During the 90's we had divided gov. and we had the best economy ever.

During the 2000's REpublicans had the power and really screwed it up.
I hope we don't let a single party or ideology control our country for any length of time again.
Yes excelman, we have to keep the pendulum swinging or the clock will stop.

posted because it's right tdreader.

I heard, on a PBS program a few weeks ago that a NON Partisan group was attempting to form to DRAFT a Presidential slate. Not to support an individual, but to ENDORSE TWO PEOPLE ONE FOR PRESIDENT AND ONE VICE PRESIDENT. The Group was to operate on the Internet, but I will be hanged if I find them. I'm sure of it, they are vanished, and I can't find any reference to them. BUT IT LOOKED LIKE A FANTASTIC IDEA. A populist candidate, selected by people using the internet to sift and shake out the best of the best. AND NOT A POLITICAL PARTY INVOLVED IN ANY WAY.

I believe, in general, most people just don't know about the incompetence of our leaders. Please just discuss it at every opportunity. Vote with your money, and if worthy, do support alternative parties and candidates.

They can't screw us if won't/don't let them.
