Hillary said this, Obama did that, Bush is a scoundrel, Democrats are GOOD, Republicans, Christians, Poles and anyone else that will not promise us a political, social UTOPIA is BAD.
Get a grip. Another year of this manure to concern ourselves about.
You like Hillary, vote for her, same with Obama or whoever else you percieve worthy, but please, please let's act like adults, reasonable ones if possible.
Anyone, yes anyone, that can raise and spend hundreds of millions of $$$$ for a $250,000 a year job is not, NOT, an honest person, period. Doesn't make any difference who they are or to which party they belong, they do not have our best interests at heart. Think about it.
Just an old codger irritating other old codgers.

Campaigning should be illegal, until one month before elections. Until then, they should just get their bio and their stance on the country in print. Listening to the election of 2008 for the next year and ten months is going to get mighty sickening!

Because at the END OF THE Election day, everyone who feels the patriotic duty TO vote, will, and the results will be in, and the rest will be history. UNLESS YOUR CHADS MESS UP!!! lol

If we keep all this up, Candidates will be campaigning for an entire FOUR years!!

I know that "I" will try my best to ignore them, but gosh, they are on every news station, 30 second break-ins on network... if anyone WANTS to watch TV has to watch THEM first.. Mad
What annoys me is when the talking heads begin dicussing "Election Momentum" during the primaries. How can someone running for office get momentum? That just shows me that a lot of the American people cast thier vote based on what happened in the previous primary, not on the candidates' merits.

Off topic: Favorite Talking Heads song? And She Was gets my vote. (now And She Was has momentum, Ha)

Good point Alphonse... we just have to stay cool and watch the "momentum", lol... AS IF!
I don't like political campaigns either, but because of my line of work I have no problem with campaigning as much as they want.

Political campaigns pump out a ton of money. They need grips wrapping cable at an ad shoot, photographers, make up, lighting, editors, and ad execs. Extra help is hired at the print shops to make signs, T-shirt screeners, button makers, and property owners leasing out office space. It's a love/hate relationship. We all hate politicians giving us the same old bull-crap, but we love them giving us all that money.
Unfortunately, but understandably, our Best are not attracted to politics. (My opinion). It is largely a sleaze profession. I said largely, not all. Who spends hundreds of millions of $$$$ for a $ 165,000 a year job? Not an honest person. Politicians are mostly lawyers, the worlds second oldest profession. Third are Realtors in general, but not all.SmilerFill out the form below for the rest of my list.

well, I agree, except I like Richardson and Chuck Hagle, and they are in DIFFERENT parties.
In a capitalistic society, it seems impossible to find a way to invest the money necessary for the debate without having the debators (candidates) come up with it.
If you own the newspaper, radio or Television Station, Magazine or Postal Service, you have to be paid for the advertising. It is alleged by ALL campaign donars that the money is to be spent on advertising, and travel expenses in connection with getting elected. When I give a dollar or two to the Red Cross, I expect them to spend it on relief efforts, I should have the same expectation of Political Candidates.
I have a problem with campaign financing, and I have a problem with putting control over the money in the hands of anyone besides the candidates or the political parties.
Kindred Spirit,
It does seem early for the campaign for the November 2008 election to be underway, but the Primaries come in about a year from today, the General election in 21 months. And there is a lot of campaign money to be raised.
Quarries,
Yep, lots of hot air and bushwha coming at us. It seems to never end. If you are bored by it, you are in the majority. I find it vital to know what Obama Says, and What Hillary Says, and What Hagel says, and What Richardson says, and some of what they say, they are desperate for me and you to hear. So desperate that they will pay to have their words presented to us with money they begged from someone.

Hillary for President?

By Cindy Sheehan

How many of our troops are lying in Walter Reed with devastating injuries that could have been prevented if a Senate leader like Clinton had taken a moral stance instead of political one?

Hillary the Favorite in Race for Jewish Donations :

New York’s junior senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is expected to snare the lion’s share of the Jewish community’s substantial political donations in the race for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.
