Just a note a co-worker went to Wal-Mart to but chicken and deli meat for a family that had a death. She got there at 3:30 AND to her suprise the deli was closed. The reason "Walmart would not hire anyone to work the deli at night!!!!" Just another reason to stay away from Wal-Mart. The greasy chicken will not be there long.

3:30 early morning or 3:30 in the afternoon?
So what!! A business has a right to decide its hours. Walmart's deli caters strongly to the lunch trade. There are other places to buy stuff to feed friends and families of deceased (or living) persons.
I actually agree with these two heck there's a KFC down the road from it.
I would not think closing a deli 3:30 in the afternoon would have any kind of negative effect on a retailer like Walmart. Business decisions get made everyday.

______
Since you used the word night, this had to be at 3:30 AM. What grocery store do you know of that their deli is open at that hour?
Another reason? What's the first reason?
You don't like Wal-mart? Stay home or find another store. See....that's so simple even a cave man can do it.

Depends on which 3:00 it was. Our publix closes at 10:00 PM. Oh well, to each his own I guess, but there had to be a thousand other things to pick up to eat, unless it was 3:00 am. But too, don't most stores with deli's have coolers with deli food packaged and for sale in them? I can't see this as a reason to stop shopping at walmart.
Taking Wal Mart chicken to a bereaved family? Haven't they suffered enough?
Isn't the stroke of midnight when the zombie Jenni-O and SL deli meats all rise up, break free of their sodium-saturated embalming fluid filled wrapping, and proceed to break one or two eggs in every egg carton in the bin?
Ok it was 3:30 PM. And I agree the family suffered enough without taking Wal-Mart chicken. I have noticed many folks complaining about Wal-Mart here lately. Truthfully the customer service stinks there and employees do not give a crap about what happens. Management does not care, district management does not care any longer about the customer. THUS it is what it is.

LOL!!!! Now I have to clean my screen.
Wal-Mart has never been strong on service. I don't know why anyone expects it to be otherwise.
As far as helpful employees I have always had very good response from WalMart Employees but then I have to admit I don't shop there that often but mostly because of the trouble finding favorable parking. Over the years though I will agree that certain policy changes or decisions has, in my mind, deteriorated their customer service and shipping appeal. For one they are not as PRO-USA as they were when Sam Walton was alive. Now could be there just isn't American made products to focus on but somehow I don't think that's all of it. Also their return policy has gotten much more restrictive but I can't complain too much because I know personally of many who took great advantage of their very liberal (when it was that way) return policy and frankly didn't deserve the return so abuse could be a reason that changed over the years.
I'm sure many decisions that Corporation WalMart has made has not set well with employees or former employees but any cooperation will make tough decisions based upon the regulations and restrictions from local, state, and or Federal Governments. Their #1 Goal is and will most likely always be to make a profit for their owners and stockholders and whatever it takes to do that they will do. Are they really doing something that other businesses are not doing, in order to stay afloat? Problem is that they seem to have perfected it and therefore do make it difficult on other businesses to compete but then some, like Publix, Dollar General and the like do compete well.
