The two officers say that statements Mosby made were false

Two of the Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray are suing State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

Sgt. Alicia White and Officer William Porter filed a lawsuit against Mosby, Baltimore Sheriff’s Office Maj. Sam Cogen and the state of Maryland in Baltimore circuit court for defamation and invasion of privacy, according to a report by the Baltimore Sun.

The suit goes back to statements made by Mosby at a May 1, 2015 news conference, which White and Porter claim that the city’s top prosecutor knew “were false,” according to the Sun.

“These among other statements were made not for the purpose of prosecuting crimes that had allegedly been committed by White and Porter, but rather for purposes of quelling the riots in Baltimore,” the suit asserts.

A spokeswoman for Mosby declined to comment and the attorney for White and Porter could not be reached by the Sun.

The two are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 25-year-old Gray, which shook the city last April. His death sparked vocal protests around Baltimore over police treatment of minorities there. A judge on Monday cleared one officer, Edward Nero, of all criminal charges in the incident, in the first verdict in the six trials since Gray’s death.

Hopefully, Nero will join the suit, as he was severely overcharged.  However, there is a high bar to prove malicious prosecution.

Not malicious prosecution , though it sounds like it ought to be, doesn't fit the parameters.

What it is is "abuse of process" whereby there is the existence of an ulterior purpose or motive underlying the use of process."

[And there, Bill Clinton, you have the meaning of "is is."  You know all about it.]

Wouldn't surprise me if the prosecutor Marilyn Mosby wasn't charged for "abuse of process" whereby there is  the existence of an ulterior purpose or motive underlying the use of process.**

Word is Nero's though he was found "not guilty" by a black judge, his re-instatement as a BPD LEO is being withheld by Baltimore's black mayor and black chief pending the outcome of the other 5 trials.

Sue their racist asses off, Nero. ***

She deserves to be sued and also to be disbarred!  I'm glad to see someone finally call out these people who have been so irresponsible with respect to their public jobs.

Just wait.

It's still 3 months till the October Surprise.

October surprises are only going to be harmful to Donald Trump because enough is already known about Hillary that it should convince any rational, reasonable, voter with standards and convictions that she should not even be on the ticket much less voted for.   I'm firmly convinced that Democrats just don't care or don't believe anything that's reported with Hillary.  So won't matter if there is a surprise or not they will just overlook it like with the vast number of other issues she has around her.  She's not invincible but she just  happens to be a Democrat and they will receive votes solely on that and regardless of issues, problems, or other things.

And Auburn always loses to Bama.

It's why we play the game.

Sometimes we think we know all there is about our opponent.  Sometimes we are wrong.

All that we know at this point about the presumed candidates can be rolled up into one gigantic ball and shoved up a gnats ass and it would bounce around like a bb in a boxcar.
