That is the amazing part of this whole equation.
The people who have benefitted the most from the stimulus tax cuts won't even admit it, won't investigate it and deny it because they are told to by the right wing media, and conservative blogs usually run by millionaires.
I tell you, why don't you NOT take any of the new tax cuts for the middle class for 2010 and help reduce the deficit.

Interesting thing about what happened in Maryland when they instituted a "millionaire" tax... it was supposed to bring in $106 million in revenue, but the net result was a $257 million LOSS... New York's David Patterson tried a similar tactic with the intent of raising $4 billion, again the tactic falls well short of the liberal's dream of "soaking the rich"... that tactic has only worked at the point of a gun...

Well I never try and pay too much to the rhetoric of Campaigns and political parties as the Democrats always try and portray the Republicans as only wanting to benefit the rich, their going to do away with Social Security and are racists bigots. The Republicans always paint the democrats as Tax and Spend. What has the Democrats done while in office? TAX ( anyone say Healthcare Bill ) ... not a tax? Well why is the Obama Administration's justice department saying, in court, under oath, that it's a tax? And there is no doubt they have spent more than any president before them. In fact they have spent more than all presidents before them.

They have to pay for their programs on someone's back. No I don't make 100,000 even, I wish I did, but that's my fault and my responsibility and not the government's. I'm all for giving Big Business and Rich folks a tax break also for I've yet to see a poor person create jobs and work. Class envy leads to nothing but anger and resentment. The founders of our constitution set it up to promote a business environment and achievement. The Democrats are for giving away everything with little to no incentives to work and make investments.

The Democrats today are nothing, not even a shadow, of Democrats in Kennedy's era. I used to be a Democrat years ago but Carter cured me of that and Reagan caused me to declare myself independent. Now the local bunch of Democrats in office now, Obama included, who by the way I supported, have with their Healthcare agenda and the way they passed it along with other socialization steps have created a change in my affiliation again. Today I'm ABD, Anything But Democrat. I will for the first time in my life be voting ALL Republican with no regret.

Our system of Government is at stake and anyone that doesn't see that is blind or follows a party line without exception or concern. The actions of the Democratic Majority (Senate, House, and President) by pushing through the Healthcare bill in the way they did should be illegal. The ways that this Administration has bypassed the checks and balances of the Constitution with his appointment of Czars and his apologetic attitude about the United States is deplorable, in MY OPINION.

I was a supporter of Obama and now I'm afraid that my support helped elect a man that wants to tear down the Capitalistic system we have.

You also mention FOX and I am proud to say I watch FOX as my primary news source. Fox has opinionated programs that are slanted conservative such as Hannity and Beck but FOX is the ONLY news organization that is balanced and fair in it's reporting. If not for FOX I would have never heard about the Justice Department's dropping charges against the Black Panther party. There are many stories that would never make it due to the filtering of other, so called, news organizations. MSNBC could very well call itself an arm of the Democratic party and doesn't admit or feel it's commentators are biased. They consider their people reporters but they are every bit as biased as FOX's employees only in the other direction.

I pay my taxes, every bit that I am supposed to but like most I don't like paying taxes to a government which waste them and gives them away trying to redistribute wealth to people, many of which, who don't care to achieve anything on their own but care only to be taken care of.

I want to see jobs created and the economy spurred to being strong again. I want to see Wall Street have the greatest gains it's ever had and people to make more on their investments than ever. I want to see hope for a future again where my Children and Grandchildren have a better chance than I had. I want to see the US be and remain secure economically and maintain world power status.

What I want to see though is at serious risk with this Administration and group of Democrats that are in office. The Democratic party needs to be remade again. The party has been hijacked by the extreme left and the only way to moderate it is to start again. A signal has to be sent and I hope that most Americans believe as I do and I hope they choose to make a difference and right the ship, so to say. I hope that the Republicans achieve such a one sided victory this election that a clear and definite signal is sent to Washington.

I also hope if that happens that the Republicans that get elected will actually be able to do something and make corrections to stop what harm has already happened. I also hope they continue the tax cuts for everyone even those way out of my tax league. I fully believe that low taxes stimulates business. I also believe that Democrats today abuse people's trust and faith and care little to none about the "common" man/woman.

I challenge anyone to look at the last two years and how the healthcare bill was done as well as other legislation and moves of the administration and the way the media picks and chooses it's stories then ask yourselves honestly what if it was Republicans doing this?

What has happened is solely the Democrats fault. It matters not what the Republicans do or wanted to do for the Democrats had enough votes to pass any legislation that they wanted to with or without any Republican support. The only problem with the Republicans being the party of NO, as the Democrats like to say, is they didn't have enough votes to actually say NO. I think it's time we gave them that power and ability for someone needs to say no before it's too late.

As for the line that the country was in too bad a shape to turn it around in two years .... that's bunk. Study and look at Reagan's record under a Democratic controlled Congress and what he did. Problem is they had total control and wasted it. They used their time to not make jobs or make a difference but rather to try and Socialize our Government and make back room deals.

That's my opinion.

Washington state is considering a nine percent income tax on millionaires and a lesser percentage on those making over $200,000. Millionaires are looking at Tennessee and Florida.

I've pointed out that the US embassy is now processing hundreds of final tax bills and revocation of US citizenship for persons with UK/US citizenship. They are immigrating to Switzerland, Monaco, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore and the Caymans where taxes are much lower. The US is the only nation, besides the Philippines, that taxes its citizens overseas income. Now, I read that some are going to Uruguay -- Uruguay, for God's sake!

Obama seems intent on making the US a second world nation, as France is becoming. Meanwhile, Greece is approaching third world status.

Gbrk: I respectfully disagree with all of the positions in your post. But your calm if misguided reasoning and the way you express it shows that you are a thoughful person. You don't seem like the type who would be screaming hate and vile at a tea party rally or posting lies and half truths on this forum. Can't say as much for some of the others on here of your persuasion. Whatever happens November 2, something has to change. This grid lock must end. A good start would be for the FCC to cancel the licenses of Fox News, MSNBC and CNN. Get away from the left or right slanted commentaries. I truly think that is where the real problem in the country lies as far as noncooperation goes. But that would be in a perfect world. Until then, there will be crazy rhetoric on both sides and little or nothing will be accomplished.

FNC, CNN and MSNBC are cable stations, not broadcast stations. The FCC and the federal government do NOT license them.

You are right lintfilter (the only time I will ever type that probably) GRBK seemed like such a genuinely nice soul who is terribly misguided by indoctrination he admits from Roger Ailes at Fox that I had a cumbeighya (sic) moment.
