The Power Of Prayer

Someone has said if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Did you know that during World War II there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace?

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens, and for a return to a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along.

Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

PLEASE ALERT YOUR BELIEVING FRIENDS!

Very good but also remember:

Romans 8:26-28 (TLB) 26 And in the same way—by our faith —the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the Spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans. From the Life Applications Bible Notes on Romans 8:26, 27 As a believer, you are not left to your own resources to cope with problems. Even when you don't know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with and for you, and God answers. With God helping you pray, you don't need to be afraid to come before him. Ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for you "in harmony with God's own will." Then, when you bring your requests to God, trust that he will always do what is best. 8:28 God works in "everything"—not just isolated incidents—for our good. This does not mean that all that happens to us is good. Evil is prevalent in our fallen world, but God is able to turn every circumstance around for our long-range good. Note that God is not working to make us happy but to fulfill his purpose. Note also that this promise is not for everybody. It can be claimed only by those who love God and are called by him, that is, those whom the Holy Spirit convinces to receive Christ. Such people have a new perspective, a new mind-set. They trust in God, not in worldly treasures; their security is in heaven, not on earth. Their faith in God does not waver in pain and persecution because they know God is with them.Life Application Study Bible.

1 Timothy 2:8 (CEV) 8 I want everyone everywhere to lift innocent hands toward heaven and pray, without being angry or arguing with each other.

and last:

1 Thessalonians 5:12-19 (CEV) 12 My friends, we ask you to be thoughtful of your leaders who work hard and tell you how to live for the Lord. 13 Show them great respect and love because of their work. Try to get along with each other. 14 My friends, we beg you to warn anyone who isn't living right. Encourage anyone who feels left out, help all who are weak, and be patient with everyone. 15 Don't be hateful to people, just because they are hateful to you. Rather, be good to each other and to everyone else. 16 Always be joyful 17 and never stop praying. 18 Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do. 19 Don't turn away God's Spirit

Our country, and leaders, need our prayers as our country continues to turn away from God in the name of Political Correctness and all in the name of separation of Church and State. I fully believe that God's hand of protection has been on our country for a very long time but I also feel as more and more people turn from God and become Godless then God's hand of protection can be removed from a land. Not that His judgement will fall upon a land, although it could, but God's Judgement and Wrath is reserved for the end times and foretold in the Scriptures of Revelation.

Imagine over a trillion and a half prayers by our government. AMEN!

I'm all for it, if they prayed that much, they wouldn't have time to spend my money.

Hi Crusty,

If our government prayed this much -- we would all be so blessed by God that we would not even need to think of money.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
