or lack thereof. The next presidential election is 21 months away, yet there are several declared candidates. Election fatigue is a real problem, for candidates, donors, and the electorate alike.

I propose the federal government regulate and organize the presidential primary election system. It's within the federal govt's constitutional duties.

First, I propose a series of rotating regional elections. New Hampshire and Iowa are fine little states, but they have a disproportionate impace on the presidential election, and that's unfair to the rest of us. The states can be blocked off into regional groups of 10 each, with elections two weeks apart starting the March before the General Election in November. Each election, the region that voted last in the last primary cycle would vote first.

Campaigning and fund raising would be disallowed until, say, the November before the primary cycle. One year is better than two.

I checked, and find no Constitutional provision for primary elections for ANY office. I also find no provision for Political Parties. I do find that the Constitution provides for voting rights for all persons who are citizens of the country. The President is elected by representatives of the voters in each of the states. That is what the Elecroral College is, and EACH STATE determins the method of selecting those electors.

This is not a federal government issue. The Feds do not elect themselves, the people do, and the people are responisble for how those elections are managed.
