why does the Shoals need an airline? Huntsville airport is one hour away, Nashville two hours and Birmingham two hours.   some people in large cities are more than an hour. I don't see this a service govt. should be funding. somewhere we need to cut back.

When Muscle Shoals airport had very, very few travelers, why did they spend all that money to reconstruct the terminal?

We always fly out of Nashville or Atlanta, according to which is the most reasonable in price.   Those cities take 2 hrs. and 4 hrs. 15 minutes respectively to get to.  We've found off site parking in Atlanta for like $2.50 per day--which is a big savings on a 2 week vacation.  And time to  drive to Atlanta is often offset by their non-stop flights when flying internationally.

So why does Decatur have a airfield somewhat controlled and given money by the FAA, why does Russellville, Hamilton, Jasper and others have airports receiving gov't money. Along those same lines why and how in the world did a interstate get built by Hamilton and a semi interstate road built by Red Bay when the population is low, hardly any traffic and hardly any businesses needing an interstate type road and Florence still has to travel on the said to be the worse 4 lane road in Alabama with hills, curves, speed limit changing every mile and traffic so thick you can sit thru several lite changes without moving. I drove on the B'han to Hamilton interstate a while back and for about 130 miles I only saw around 10 vehicles on all 4 lanes. We need a good road to Huntsville going back and forth to work since that is the only place getting jobs. We need to cut back on programs but I think there are other programs that can be cut first.
