First our calendar begins with Sunday as the first day of the week, not the seventh and looking at the Jewish calendar the sabbbath starts on Friday not Sunday. And Christ was not born in December, more likely in the month of October. And do people still obey the Ten Commendments and most religions stand behind them, except there is one problem they don't all obey them.  Here is a list of eight different Bible's and they all tell us about the Ten Commandments  http://godstenlaws.com/ten-commandments/index.html

.

There isn't any historical evidence or record of the date Jesus was born.

We aren't Jews, the last day being sunday works fine for me. The Bible

tells us we are not bound to Jewish laws.

Sundays, pork, Dec. 25 and other gentile stuff is what we are accustomed

to in this late date. Without proof why concern yourself when God could

have had a reason to cloud the actual dates of certain events.

People picked the date to celebrate the birth, but now they claim all sorts of miracles happen on "jesus's  birthday." At one time it was said that animals knelt and could speak on christmas eve. They get all bent out of shape if they think people aren't paying the proper homage to a day in december that's no different than any other. They talk about him being born in a manger as if it was something out of the ordinary, but it wasn't unusual for people to sleep in the stalls where the animals were kept, and the stalls were usually the lower part of the house. They perform plays about his birth, and have "wise men" following a star to bring gifts to the manger. They read the bible but don't seem to know, (or care) that those "wise men" didn't visit jesus until he was over two years old. They get upset if people say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas", even though happy holidays is the proper term for man made holidays.

There is no New Testament commandment to remember the sabbath day. Christians in the first Century A.D. worshiped on the first day of the week.

7th Day Adventists call themselves O.T. Christians and do worship on the Sabbath*. I'm not familiar with any others who do so.

I've seen the Christmas celebration discussed here many times. BTW, all holidays are man made, unless you want to call the Lord's Day a holiday.

* Since we've recently been over wide sweeping statements, I'll note that those I went to college with did so.

Always ask Bestworking first.

It is because Mithra was supposed to be born on that day and Paul and his followers wisely horsetraded that legend to get the Mithrans to support the newfounded Christianity.  Mithra's birth was supposed to have been fortold by angels to sheppard boys... (see the connection yet?).  Paul was a very wise horsetrader, say what you will about him, he and his immedate followers changed the world for the better, and that is a fact.

There are some other sabbatarians around besides the 7th Day Adventists, including a group named Seventh Day Baptists. You could probably Google up a bunch of 7th day sects and cults.

Paul's writings do not include anything remotely endorsing the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Paul did not write anything about the time or circumstances of the birth of Jesus.     If you think you know differently, then put up the goods.

Hi Runy,

I have attempted to answer the questions and comments you have made in this post.  You will find my response in the new discussion titled "Let’s Talk About The Sabbath, Christmas, The Ten Commandments, And The Bible?"

This is my attempt to answer your questions and to respond to your comments honestly and, hopefully, fairly complete.  I welcome your comments.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
