I also believe Staggs is a very good hamburger/cheeseburger and although, yes, Staggs is a bit less expensive you aren't going to get a Staggs burger in the evening or on Sunday.  I've not had the luck that you had at Five Guys.  I've got very good service and the burgers are always fixed fresh, cooked fresh, on the grille.  Although Five Guys charges more than McDonalds, Hardees, and most of the others I've always felt it was a superior Burger and when the burger is that good I don't mind paying a little more.

staggs does have a great burger and i would rather have their fries, but the double burger at 5 guys is hands down the BEST fast food burger in town. it may be the best burger in town. people who don't pay the extra $1.20 for the extra piece of meat don't know what you're missing.

when i go to 5 guys by my self, i don't order fries because they give you way too much, i just get the double burger to go and my total comes to under $5.00 after tax. i do love their cajun fries, i just wish they came in a small order.

The wife and I choose to go to Five Guy's tonight and it was GREAT as usual.  I have to agree that it's the best Cheeseburger that I have found in Florence.  I also like that you can see them cooking the meat fresh and in front of you rather than pre-cooking them and putting them in a tray then warming them up when someone orders them.

my wife doesn't eat red meat very often and i have been telling her how great these burgers are. we had lunch there yesterday and it was her first visit. she agreed that it's the best burger in town. i always do the double patty and when she does get a burger, it's always a single patty. she couldn't even eat all of her burger. i took the last bite. we got the regular cajun fries to split and had as many left over as we ate.

If you want fast food, Quality, Value, and Service go to Stagg's , just get there early cause they get their sack full and close by mid day,  they ain't greedy.

If you get there before daylight and stay till after closing you should have no trouble seeing 200 people there, but if you want to stand in line to give $9 and up for burger, fries & a drink then you won't be in the way elsewhere......

I have compared the burgers at Staggs and at Five Guys.  Five Guys may not be the greatest in the world, but they are heads above the offerings at Staggs.  The fries at Staggs have no character either. At least the Five Guys fries are different and taste fresh, not frozen. I fail to see the adoration given to Stagg's burgers, IMO they are not that special, and as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I agree with Teyates,  It is nice to support local business, but that does not make it better than anything else available.

I still say Value, Fast Service, and Quality are still available at Stagg's, now ambiance maybe a different subject. The Shoals area has many sit down restaurants where you can get a plate lunch for the price of $9 or less. Backyard Burgers proved a premium priced burger has a tough time in this area and only time will tell if Five Guys will convince consumers to pay steak prices for hamburger, as the say "Opinions vary" .

It wasn't their price.  Every one I had was cooked until it was dry.  Not at all like the ones I had in Memphis.
