Frankly it's been so long since I, or my family, have gone to the Florence Ryan's that I don't know if they serve Steak anymore or not?   By serving steak I don't mean slapping down several meat looking entrees into a giant metal dish on the buffet bar but an actual menu of steaks that you can choose to have them cook for you after you set down and wait to eat.

Last time I was there the restrooms were so horrifically bad and dirty that I was afraid to go into there and felt I needed to sanitize upon entering AND leaving.  AS for the food it was luke warm at best and using the word best in the same paragraph as Ryans is a stretch for me, after my last experience.

I have also heard of many locals complain about getting sick after eating there so I'm wondering for anyone, brave enough, to eat there has things changed?   What is the modern Ryan's like?  Do they have steaks on the menu once again, Steaks that you can order specifying the exact temp you want it and the type of steak you want?   Is the food on the food bars (aka buffets) hot, fresh, and attractive (as in appetizing) looking?  Do they keep up the salad bar and would you recommend someone potentially trying Ryans again or should we just wait for Corporate to take notice and hopefully make profound changes?

I don't usually like buffets as it is and when I choose to go I try and locate a Golden Corral as they seem to have their act going on much better than the others, but then that's just an opinion also and could be wrong.  Just curious though about our local Ryans and if the future looks Rosie or not so good.

I rarely go to Ryan's however last time I went (probably been a year or better), they would cook a steak for you but you have to go to the window and ask for it and it is not even a whole steak and it does need some A-1 to make it good. Overall I think the outlook for Ryan's is pretty good as long as there are enough 300 pounders on a budget around. I have gotten sick in the past after eating there and am not sure if it is a coincidence or not however if I do go there, I try and go early before the crowds hit because it is not uncommon to see people digging in with their hands to handle the food.

A while back I went to the Ryan's in Corinth for the breakfast buffet and they were making eggs & omelets to order, do they do that in Florence too?

I used to eat at Ryans quite often.  However, in the last year or so, the food  really went downhill.  My last trip, I noticed the restroom problem, it was dirty and stunk.  I decided not to go back.  About a month later, I was in the area at 11:25 and decided to give it another chance.  When I got there, there was 11 cars in the parking lot.  I went somewhere else.

I hope they get their problems worked out.

They use unsafe food practices.  They put pretty much identical chicken nuggets next to shrimp nuggets, and of course not only can you not tell which is which without ripping one open, but they get mixed into each other a lot.  No biggie to some, but anyone with any kind of seafood allergy would regret eating there.  And they know this...they mix dairy with foods that shouldn't have dairy in them and you would never know until you reacted from the dairy.  The food temps weren't hot enough half the time and stuff sat out lukewarm...super dangerous.

The management couldn't care less about safety or anything else much last time we tried it a few years ago, so we never went back.

The last time I was at the one in Florence it was just plain nasty. That was about a year ago. That being said me and my brother ate at one in Mississippi recently and had a very good experience. Very clean(including the bathrooms) and the food was great. The staff was curtious and very attentive.

It really makes a huge difference when a restaurant has management that cares and really tries to run a good restaurant. Good management is key.

I went to Ryan's last week. The food was good. However, there was a person dining there that had an open sore on his arm that was bleeding & running down his arm to his hand.  The hostess called it to his attention, he wiped it off & kept going. I tried not to use the serving utensils he touched. That was disgusting. I won't be back, at least not for a long time.  That wasn't the restaurant's fault, however.
