FLORENCE – Judge James Hall passed away last night in the hospital as he was undergoing treatment for a stomach aneurysm. Initial sources have told the Quad-Cities daily that Hall was undergoing emergency surgery in a Birmingham hospital.

Reports indicate that Hall was experiencing severe stomach pain yesterday at his office. After a time, some of his office staff took the Judge to ECM Hospital were he was transferred to a Birmingham hospital for surgery.

The writer of this story needs a refresher course in "getting the facts straight". According to the story he succumbed in Florence, while undergoing emergency surgery in Birmingham.  Good grief, it does not even make sense. It has sense been modified, but the facts are still pretty muddy.

On the other hand, I had the privilege of meeting judge Hall several times and he was a genuinely nice guy. It is sad to see a person this young taken from his family and community.

I understand it was an aortic aneurysm which means they didn't have time to take him to B'ham, but the facts seem to be muddled right now.

Yes, a very sad day.

(I had an uncle who actually lived thru this & the surgery. I'm told when they survive over a few minutes, it's a leak like a garden hose. Still not that much time.)
