So What is Going on in Texas?

Sharia Court in Texas?

Reports Of Sharia Court In Texas Proven False Through Mayor’s Immediate Action On Social Media

----------------------------------------

As of late, news outlets have been reporting on Sharia Law, its effect in society, and how Muslims are trying to implement said law into governments, especially in Europe and the United States. The Inquisitr has kept up with such news, which includes a decree that wives who keep their passwords of their social accounts a secret from their husbands are breaking said law. Of course countries differ from how they receive Sharia Law. In the United Kingdom, it is proposed that anyone who criticizes it are “extremists,” yet in the United States (Alabama specifically), Sharia Law was banned because it is a “foreign law” according to constitutional amendment.

The latest on Sharia Law news is that its first official court was opened in Irving, Texas. However, such news been proven false by the city’s mayor herself, who took to social media to let everyone know the truth.

According to an exclusive interview by Breitbart, the Islamic Tribunal in Irving, Texas, has been confirmed to be a court system that uses Sharia Law. Dr. Taher El-badawi, one of the judges, has stated the tribunal operates under the law as a form of non-binding dispute resolution in which their organization is first and foremost a tribunal, and not an arbitration. El-badawi also says they cover issues of a civil law nature. This means the Islamic Tribunal will utilize Sharia Law to settle civil disputes in family and business matters as well as resolve workplace disputes. They made no mention of partaking in the other three forms of law: criminal, common, and statute.

Still, the Islamic Tribunal is not a legitimate court recognized by the city of Irving, despite what some news media outlets may say. According to The Christian Post, Mayor Beth Van Duyne took to social media, specifically her Facebook page, to speak on the supposed enactment of a Sharia Law Court. Van Duyne’s post can be seen in its entirety below.

What's not true about the post/article? You did see the question did you not? You did see the second sentence did you not? So again, what's not true? The question, "so what is going on in Texas" is a valid one.

Texas Legislature, What to Watch: Sharia law; school vouchers; sanctuary cities

By WILL WEISSERT

AUSTIN — A plan forbidding family court rulings based on foreign legal codes — one of the tamest of a series of bills designed to stop the influence of Islamic “Sharia law” in Texas — has cleared House committee and could soon be up for a full-chamber vote.

Plano Republican Rep. Jeff Leach’s proposal doesn’t mention Muslims. But it was one of six bills that got a lot of attention after Islamic elders set up a non-legally binding tribunal to help handle issues such as divorce or business disagreements in Irving.

Leach’s bill, though, is the only one of those that has advanced enough through the legislative process to likely have any shot of passing given that there’s only six weeks left in the session. And it still has a long way to go before becoming law.

America's Sharia Scare

After America's first ever Islamic tribunal was established in Irving, Texas earlier this year, the town's city council dealt the local Muslims a blow by passing a resolution in support of new state legislation that would forbid the implementation of any "foreign laws," including sharia.

So, once more, what's going on in Texas?

He used to call himself Quail Dog.  Which reminded me of an old timer who bought a young dog to train for quail hunting, Critter would not hunt, just bark at squirrels.  Fellow hunters joked that he had a squirrel dog, not a quail  dog. Oldtimer retorted, just a squirrelly dawg.  I hung that name on our poster,

I'm still waiting on big to tell me what is not true about the articles, and why he avoids answering why he objects to the truth being put out. Another thing they deny, isis in mexico, and by now, the US. Why  the denial lefties? Because it's the leftists that have allowed it to happen?

Absolutely agree. I never thought we'd be putting muslim terrorists on welfare either, but it happened and apparently is still going on.

I never thought the American people would reelect obuma. Now I know

why they believe rodham will be elected. Because the American people

are very stupid and voting for Hillary is the same as reelecting obuma

for a third and final time for a last breath of stagnant air. Cut out the lights.

Yes they are very careful to call it "foreign law" when in reality it is religious law. You will never see a Republican write a bill outlawing religious law in our government or court rooms. Sharia law is religious law. There are many natural born citizens that adhere to Sharia law.

A Tribunal is not a real court. Those that CHOOSE to allow a tribunal to decide an outcome are free to do so. If they decide they want a real court of law to rule on an issue then we already have in place laws (and constitutional amendments) that assure rulings based on actual US laws. These Republicans that are pushing for the bans (like we have in Alabama) are just pandering to their nutty constituents that think they will somehow be forced into a Sharia law tribunal.

The Catholics have a Christian law Tribunal. Of course that is different now isn't it.

A true sharia court is both religious and secular as there is no distinction in the Islam faith.

Points well taken Jankinonya! Some universities have student  courts as part of the university's disciplinary system.  Students upon entering the university are apprised of this arrangement and thus they voluntarily accept it. Such courts no more displace the civil law of federal, state, or local laws that does Sharia law when it is accepted as a means of resolving civil disputes between disagreeing parties. Of course, NO law other than federal, state or local, can prescribe penalties such as imprisonment or death to offenders or otherwise impose criminal penalties that would in themselves be crimes under the prevailing statutes of governments. The Texans who are all bent out of shape about Sharia law are just another subset of Islamaphobic  wingnuts.
